Of course you can. All you need to do is check your study permit if it allows you to. There is this clause on your study permit where it says "Bonded", if "No" is written in front of it then surely you can change your course/institution without even notifying CIC. But if "Yes" is written with "Bonded" then you will have to notify CIC before you take any further steps. Usually all post-secondary students are issued a Non-bonded study permit which enables them to change courses and institutions freely.

Cheers ;-)

@ acemsyed

I think study permit is issued at the port of entry however the letter that came with the PP/Visa says:

"Once in canada , you can change your place of study only after obtaining permission from an immigration
Officer at the Case processesing centre ............."
I dont understand this ?

Does every letter has this clause or is it because I m not allowed to change college/ Course?

Don't worry bro, all you need to do is ring them up and the number will be written on the back of your study permit. I am sure they'll say OK Fine no problem go ahead and do whatever you like as long as you're studying full time at a post-secondary institution. The letter you're referring to is a standard letter and those words are written there for students who are studying at secondary level or below. You need not panic, dont take my word for it, just ring immigration helpline for your peace of mind

Cheers ;-)

I dont see the point really. But if you so fancy it, be my guest ! There are a lot of people who do it all the time like I met this guy today who came to Canada to study Biotech course at Humber about a year ago and now after gap of 1 year he's started Business Management course at Seneca College without informing CIC. Contacting them will only confuse you more...but its your choice !

Cheers ;-)

Ok I wont call Thanks again yaar you're a real life saver

By the way which Uni or College r u in ? I'll inshallah meet u in Canada
Thanks a million bro

will there be any problem at the time Visa Extension
I currently have visa for 1 year 3 months
I want enroll for a course for 4 year degree program

Well you will need to show first year's tuition fee + 10,000 CAD as living expenses at the time of extension and usually its a plain sailing if you're abiding by the rules. Apply at least 2 months before your current study permit expires. I am at Seneca College Newnham Campus. No problem bro, see you soon here in Canada.

Cheers ;-)
