Actually, you are in luck - Because you were able to forward your most recent paystub and valid H1B petition.

Once you receive your nomination, you can transfer your case to CIC New Delhi.

Dear All,

I am in a peculiar situation.

Right now I am in India on a vacation. I got a request for visa/approval notice & most recent paystub on 25th of Nov which I duly forwarded. Unfortunately I was informed by my employer yesterday that my project has ended abruptly due to budget cuts and asked me to stay back. I have a valid H1-B till 2010. Can I continue with the process in case I am nominated?

please advise.

Hi AbuMalik,

Thanks for your reply. Do I need to apply to Buffalo and then transfer to NewDelhi or can I apply directly to NewDelhi?

what abumalik is saying is the right. AINP will specify where to send the CIC application and they notify that CIC center about your nomination. so you might have to send the application to Buffalo and have it transfered to New Delhi. below is how the nomination letter message reads

We are pleased to inform you that you have been approved as an Alberta Provincial Nominee. This Nomination includes you as the Provincial Nominee and your accompanying family members as follows:

(&applicant name, date of birth)

It is now your responsibility to submit this document with your complete Application for Permanent Residence in Canada to:

Consulate General of Canada
Immigration Regional Program Center
3000 HSBC Center
Buffalo, NY
14203-2884, USA

The visa office has been notified of your Nomination. The permanent residence application must arrive at this visa office before (&date) as this is the date on which your Nomination expires. This Nomination will not be extended beyond this date.

Hi,

To those who obtained PCC from CHicago Indian Embassy,

I see there are two options
1)if Indian Passport was issued by the Consulate General of India, Chicago for more than five years ago. then we can go in person and get the PCC done

2) when passport is issued by the Chicago Consulate less than 5 years ago or the passport issued by the other Passport issuing authorities..then there are 2 stages, in the first stage we have to apply and wait for 60days, and then proceed to 2nd stage, where we can goto embassy and get the PCC done..

How did you get the PCC done.?

How will AINP identify that we stayed more than six months in any state..

any idea..

Sorry for the misunderstanding.. send only one set of PCCs for each of the places where you have lived more than 6 months ... if the PCCs are expired then you might want to send a new set just in case... I mean there is nothing written about that... and every single case is different...

BTW 181 days is more than 6 months..... If I am not mistaken I saw in one of the forums that a guy from Germany had to request PCC from Mexico because he was a exchanged student and lived there for 6 months + couple of days....

running a credit check with credit bureaus can provide the details of where all a person has resided. similarly there is AR-11 notification to be provided to USCIS which tracks where the person has lived. state taxes paid based on SSN etc.... keep in mind anything misleading can only lead to complications in your case and cause delays.

Hello All,
I am having a bit of a showdown with my lawyer. I received my nomination last week, but the lawyer asked for the money for the next phase (CIC) before releasing to me, the full packet of the Alberta Nomination mainly the PN acknowledgment form that needs to be signed and sent back is the important document there since I received a copy of my nomination letter in the mail separately.

Basically, when I told them that I am considering not going through with them for the CIC, and I will do it on my own, they sent an email saying that if I did this, I would be in breach of the contract, and I would have to pay them the full balance anyway, AND they will send my packet BACK to AINP!!!

Has anyone here had any experience with anything like this? I called AINP today, and they are still seeing if they can send me another packet, and the lady there said "This is exactly why we prefer to deal with candidates directly".

The way I am thinking is that I can send AINP a letter saying I am no longer using that representative, and update my address with them, and apply on my own. If I can get the PN form in time that is. Will there be a problem in the future with that lawyer? who would be the party to complain about the lawyers behavior to? or the fact that he is refusing to send me a copy of my file? It doesn't seem to me like a strange request keeping in mind that I paid all my bills in time, and I am simply not wanting to go further with them because they are slowing the process, not expediting it.

Any thoughts on the matter would help fellow future Albertans....

Thanks

Congrats, bibo!

Here's the link for "Statistical information: Applications processed at Canadian visa offices":
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/international/04-provincial.asp

So, it takes about 6-10 months for Baffalo.

other than the police certificates, what else is required?
they didn't include much information in the package i received.

thank you

i lived in one state and worked in another state..if they go based on Staxes , do i have to get PCC from both states or just one state(where I lived)

thanks

Jasper,

6-10 for AINP, do you know how long it takes for regular FSW folks?
Here are links to "Statistical information: Applications processed at Canadian visa offices"

Skilled worker applications received before Feb 27, 2008: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/international/02a-skilled-fed.asp

Skilled worker applications received after Feb 27, 2008: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/international/02b-skilled-fed.asp (this site has not been updated yet)

The processing time varies depending on the visa office where you send your application. For Buffalo, it is about 15-26 months.

Juat want as an estimate, can somebody give the total amount of time being taken in getting the PR stamped on the passport after getting AINP, as in how much time is taking on average for the whole process nowadays?

6 - 10 months?
