Hi all, I’m a South African lady doing Aircraft Mechanic and I will be qualified by next year November so my question is: will I be able to apply for jobs at Canada as a qualified mechanic without EASA or any license?

You should assume that getting a job in Canada most likely will not be possible.

If you want to move to Canada, then the best option is to focus on qualifying and applying to immigrate and become a permanent resident through an economic immigration program like Express Entry.

For AME, you need to licensed by Transport Canada. Not sure of requirements if you need PR due to security issues. So not you can’t apply for jobs without a Transport Canada license.

I know locally trained air craft mechanic changed his career and moved on to other fields. Not sure if that will be a hot job market in Canada looking at how COVID impacted this industry. (air travel and specially tourism)

If you have enough points for Express Entry and are invite, you can work in whatever field you want. Have you even researched Express Entry?

If you want to work as AME, you need license. Go on the TC site and read the requirements.

Thanks for replying to my questions I have additional below queries after reading the requirements on Transport Canada website:
- Do you know which material to refer to for the TC E Rating exams. There are lot of reference books / topics mentioned on the TC website.
