my husband went to embassy and asked them about the child's passport signature since they do not answer any emails and the officer answer was if the kid is under 16 his father can sign the passport . already my husband signed the kids passports

Dear mft, do you sign the jordanian passports after receiving them or is the signature printed? The signature on the syrian passports should be printed so we cannot sign it after receiving it.

I went to the passports and immigration department today and was told that children cannot sign and nobody else is allowed to have his signature on their passports.

I called the VAC in Amman and the one who answered me told me that they receive unsigned passports including jordanian ones especially for children but she seemed not sure about this issue. she said that this depends on the procedures of the country issuing the passport.

Now i am really afraid i will face problems when i get the visa. if those canadians cannot understand that children cannot sign the passports in my country, what should i do? the strange thing is that on their website for issuing canadian passports they wrote that PARENTS MUST NOT SIGN THEIR CHILDREN'S CANADIAN PASSPORTS. So they should know that this also applies in other countries. I found the same statement about issuing the passports for children in new zealand and ireland.

I think it is contraversial subject and it depend on the passport's country regulations I read also American passports should be signed by one of the parents so if your passport is protected and you can not sign it apply it as it is in my case Jordanian passports are not protected and delivered with empty place for signature and i did not find any regulations for passport signature in Jordan so it is ok

I live abroad and my child's passport is not signed, should I sign his passport manually myself at home?
for myself, my passport, the signature part is very blurred and almost invisible as my passport is new, and this is the case of all new passports, do you think this could be a problem?

I talked to an officer at the passports department and he confirmed to me that a child's father cannot sign on the passport for him. He said that they put the thumbprint of the child if he is over five. I don't think the Canadian embassy cares about the thumbprint if we explain to them that the child's passport in Syria cannot be signed.

Anyway, if you can get any information about this issue please let us know.

I am agree with Mft25 it depend on the passport's country regulations, because i renewed my passport and i received it today. It is without signature or thumbprint.

Small question I have been requested to have police certificate from lebanon since i spent about two years thier but since we Are syrian we can get like this certificate or not from Lebanon ? and I was went in and out each 6 months so there was no business Visa or something like this

Yes you can, you just have to be in Lebanon legally and it takes about 15 minutes to get it.

I'm not sure about that, I live in Lebanon and I got it in person, they request the ID + the entrance card. I just provided my passport because I entered Lebanon from the airport so the entrance is stamped on it. To be honest I don't know if someone can get it to you.
