Dear all Forum Members:
Congratulations to all of those who got DM, PPR, and Re-Medical in February. I believe there is no updates from the members in this month. I thought that they will clear all the 2012-2013 cases, but it looks they really take their sweet times. However, this long process really killing us and there is no way to get rid of of except to wait. :P :P :P :P

The Government of Canada is planning to welcome between 260,000 and 285,000 new permanent residents in 2015, an increase of approximately 19,000 planned admissions over last year. The Family Class category will account for almost 25 percent of new immigrants to Canada in 2015.

The 2015 levels plan reaffirms the Government of Canada's commitment to bringing families together, by maintaining a high level of admissions space under the Family Class category. Reuniting immediate family members continues to be Canada's first priority under the Family Class immigration stream, and with this year's plan, Canada will welcome up to 68,000 new permanent residents in this category. By prioritizing applications from spouses, partners and dependent children, Canada continues to have the most generous family reunification program in the developed world.

Hi everyone,

I am just starting the process of sponsoring my wife from Afghanistan (what a daunting task lol) but before I do anything I really want to hire a lawyer to help with the process. I am hopeful that someone can recommend a lawyer in Toronto or GTA who you or a family member have had positive experience with. Any help would be greatly appreciated and will go a long way in alleviating the stress of starting this process :)

New week new start !

Curious as to why you want to hire a lawyer? As long as you are proficient in reading and writing English, you should be good. Read a few threads on this forum and gather some ideas and prepare your application. Before submitting though, make a separate thread on this forum and ask other experienced members for feedback. Of course, keep everything confidential by not sharing specifics such as names, etc. Wish you all the best.

Dear SAmm2060:
To be honest, lawyer can not help you in the processing of your application, but it is a good idea to verify your application with the lawyer to make sure that everything has been included in your application. This will reduce the chance of uncompleted application which take another 89 days for approval in Canada. In fact, I would recommend you to hire a lawyer to have a look on your application.
Best of luck.
