Toronto2013 said:I have my passport and SSC (10th std) certificate to show as proof. However my last name is shown as an initial in the SSC certificate hence I am thinking of getting an affidavit. Would it not work? There is no way I can get it from India as there is no one to run around there! Please suggest if you know any alternate way. Thanks

I'm not sure if CIC puts more emphasis on one method or the other, but I was always under the assumption that the affidavit had to come from your parents or someone else that witnessed your birth.
