Adobe Form IMM5709e saving is disabled: "Cannot Save Form Information"

Opening the PDF file with the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader on MacOS or Windows and trying to save edited data I always receive this dialog message:

"Save a Blank Copy of this Form"
"Data typed into this form will not be saved. Adobe Acrobat Reader can only save a blank copy of this form."

Javascript is enabled and the barcodes on the last page are temporally created, vanished however when printing is attempted.

The whole process is not possible without saving the file.

Please advise

Had the same problem since yesterday. Turns out you just gotta upgrade to Adobe Acrobat Pro and allow the app to download the pro features. Once it's done configuring enter the Adobe again, you should see the save button working instead of greyed out. Pro has a 7 days free trial.

That is clearly not the solution. Trying to edit that form in Adobe Acrobat you immediately get the error message "This XFA form cannot be edited using Adobe Acrobat." see https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/edit-xfa-form.html
