Hello,

I am struggling with IELTS I need L8,7,7,7 to make 465. Anything less, even 0.5 is taking about 20 points off. I have written IELTS twice already. Once, got 7.5 when I needed 8(Listening) other time, did score 8 in listening but only got 6.5(W), while I needed 7. So I am kinda disappointed, as it already has wasted one month! Now, I am thinking is it possible that I proceed with my application only mentioning * Spouse won't accompany* as it gives me required points even with current IELTS score (Clearly adding spouse cutting 20 -30 points). And meanwhile, keep improving IELTS. And when required scores are achieved I go update the profile changing it to *Spouse will accompany" and updating the latest IELTS score so that when CIC re-evaluate points it would still be same (around 466). Just a thought, I don't know if that's possible or not. just trying to save some time.

Any advice will be appreciated!

These tricks complicate things unnecessarily, so please do yourself a favour and do things normally. :)

For instance, you will need to probably mention why you changed your spouse to accompanying after getting the ITA and why she was unaccompanying in the first place. Such a headache.

Thanks for your feedback!

I feel we do have a good explanation, which is actually genuine, of why we are not sure at this point if she should accompany or not (related to her admission at a med school back-home, which we will find out late September or early October).
I am just wondering if I add her later in the application, would they re-evaluate. if Yes, would I will be able to submit a new IELTS at that point to compensate the points which potentially could drop on adding her?

Unfortunately I don't have an answer. While your CRS score will be above the cut-off, questions may arise about the fact that you only added your spouse when you were able to increase your IELTS results. Her admission to medical school should be the only reason of why you decided to add her after the ITA. You could say that because you wanted her to be with you (after knowing about her admission), you gave IELTS another go and got a better score. For this to seem genuine, you probably would have to take the IELTS test AFTER the ITA and wait for its results. This is too stressful.

What if you're unable to get the needed IELTS score? You'll either have to continue the application without her and sponsor her later (which is a lengthy process), or decline the ITA, wasting someone else's chance.

Anyway, this is my personal advice, feel free to take it or leave it.

Thank you so much for taking time and giving advice on that!

I got my IELTS score today and got L8, R9, S7, W7. which is what I needed! I will make my E. E file tonight. My CRS score shows 465. It includes 2 points I am getting for my wife secondary school (high school, which is her highest education). Can I claim her points or Do I need ECA evaluation? I gave a call to Wes-eca they said they do not do ECA for high school only, Apparently, they do it for higher education only.

If I need evaluation and I choose not to claim points (465-2), do I need to say * None, less than secondary* option while making E.E profile?

Great, congrats!

I believe you need an ECA for any foreign education. One way to tell is when you're creating a profile, you should be asked to provide an ECA reference number for your wife.

2 points are not worth the hassle and time IMO.

ANOTHER QUESTION: URGENT, please!!!

I am making an E.E right now, I have 13 months of full-time experience in NOC 6311- Foodservice supervisor.
I worked since 2018 FEB - till date. with 2 breaks when I visited back home i.e July 7-Sep 8 ( 2 months) and Jan 18-April 18 (3months)..... So taking these 5 months off, I have 13 months of fulltime experience. I received Monthly Pay stub between 130hrs -150 hr. which is about 32hrs a week. $15/hr.

Now. How should I go about this? or is these answers are okay??

I am just worried that, this answer do not say any time off (5 months) and looks like I have 18 months of full-time expression which, in fact, I have only 13 months excluding 5 months off, that I visited back home! I just want to claim points for 1 year of NOC B!

Sorry for asking too many questions!! Any response will be appreciated.

I think experience is counted on a yearly basis, so if you have 13 or 18 months, it would still count as 1 year. You could add separate fields for your work history (for peace of mind) and upload the same reference letter twice. You have to mention your breaks in your personal history though and it would make things clear if you do in your LOE as well.

Hm... So should I split into two fields? Like one till 3 months break, i.e Feb 2018 - Jan 2019, and then April 2019- Continue...

Putting 3 sperate fields which, to separate both breaks, would be too much! what do you think?

Yeah I just realized lol.

I don't think you'll get a concrete answer on this tbh. Your best bet is to mention the breaks in the personal history and explain the situation in the LOE.

You should be fine, since you have the required experience anyway.
