Hi,

My wife has an uncle and aunt (from her mothers side) and quite a few cousins who have PR status in Canada. I am the Principal applicant, can I claim the 5 adaptability points?

You can get 5 points for the aunt and uncle. They must be living in Canada for you to get the point (it isn't enough for them to be PRs). You must prove your relationship to them and also prove they are living in Canada.

Can you please respond to my query as well?
My brother is a Canadian citizen and is currently living in Canada. Of the required documents as mentioned in the documents checklist, he has sent me all but one, proof of relationship.
The thing is that he doesn't have his birth certificate. In lieu of that he has sent a copy of his high school certificate (Pakistan) which mentions Father's name. He has also sent a copy of his ID card (Pakistan) which also contains father's name. Will this be acceptable proof to claim adaptability points? The dilemma is that none of his Canadian documents mention Father's name. The checklist explicitly asks for birth/marriage certificates.
BTW I do have my Birth certificate.
Thanks!!

I don't know if this will be accepted by CIC.

I showed my uncle Pakistani Passport and his NIC card didnt show her Birth certificate and CIC accepted
Thank you very much to share your experience!
I am of the same view that this will not be a problem. The canadian gort. must have a central database containing details of all its residents and it must have father's name. Visa officers could cross reference from there to make sure.

u have to submit ur relation wit ur uncle by NIC card, Pakistani Passport etc and show a diagram of ur family tree.

You mean FRC from NADRA, or self drawn family tree?
Thank you
