Hello everybody,

I've been keeping an eye on this forum for about a year and it actually helped me a lot figuring out how to submit my documentation for Federal Skilled Worker to Sydney and all the related stuff. I thank all the people that actually collaborate to keep this community up and running.

However, I am a bit worried now and so far I haven't found here help in this particular matter:

I submitted my application by mid July 2009, my post company said the package was delivered on July 19th 2009. As far as I know, and according to the processing times in the CIC website, they take approximately 5 months to review the application and send the acknowledgement letter.

It has been 6 months and I have not received anything. I know it's early, but looking in some blogs and forums, some people say they have received their letter no more than 2 months after they submitted it.

I've been checking my email daily, even the spam folder, nothing yet. Not regular mail either.

Does anyone know if they are taking a bit longer to process the apps? what should I do, just wait or should I call them and ask about the status?

Thank you all for your help!

Your case is unusual .It normally take 60-70days to get responses from CIO.
Pls confirm when your bank draft or credit card has been cashed.

Ok I just emailed my bank agent but it might take a while to get a response about when the bank draft was cashed.

What if I call the CIC? Would you recommend it?

Yes, As Benny said. Thats the best way to know if your app to CIO has been accepted is to check if your demand draft(payment) has been cashed. I learnet this technique from this forum. you did right, wait for your bank agent to reply to your query. let us know.

In my case, I didn't hear anything from Sydney for three months because one of my neighbor got my returned application.

your neighbor got your returned application?

What did you mean by that? your application was returned under which condition?
Let us know the reason(s).

his neighbor may have received because of postman s mistake

Full application is normally returned if payment made is not proper or the forms was not filled properly.

Guys, I got response from my bank. This is what my agent said:

"The draft still appears as -outstanding- so it means they haven't cashed it yet".

So, if they haven't cashed it, what happened? I mean, I have the delivery confirmation from my post company, so the package was DELIVERED correctly.

Any clues?

You need to check your postal address to be sure that no such package was received.

Since CIO sends all the packages using public post services, I called my public national post company which manages all the packages coming from public couriers. They can't give me any status on any packages if I don't have the tracking number.

So, what else can I do? There is no email address in the CIC website to contact them, and without any identification number I can't use the call centre.

I am really frustrated about this and I don't know what else to do. I ran out of options. I would really appreciate any other suggestion or comment. :-\

I would call them anyway

Do you have the original tracking info?

Thanks for your response. Yeah I have the tracking information I received when I sent the package to Sydney, it says "Successfully delivered".

Well I guess I will try calling them.

I would worst they can say is they can't help

Worst case scenario is cancel the cheque and reapply

Well here is the thing, I tried to call the CAS number which is 1 888 242‑2100. Sometimes I get a machine saying "I am sorry, this number cannot be reached from your local area, please try again". Sometimes I just get a beep, like a missing call.

As far as I know, that's a Canada only number. I dialed 001 888 242-2100 since I am outside Canada.

Is there any other number for people overseas? There is nothing in the CIC website, only local country offices.
