bestofluck,

Thanks for your "suggestion". LOL
I just feel there is a little "conflict" of IRCC:
One side, IRCC said any one give applicant any kind of advice, consult, etc, paid or unpaid, is "representative"; on the other side, they required to fill 5476 form. But 5476 only means someone ask another communicate and take action on behalf of her between she and IRCC...But it is definitely clear that, someone can suggest applicant, as consultant, paid, unpaid, but the applicant never ask him take action on behalf of the applicant. But IRCC will treat this as "misreprensentation"...So this really makes me confused...

BTW, I have submitted my e-APR.

Thanks for your reply ;)

So what did you finally write : No or YES? :p

bellaluna,

You are welcomed even you are the 1000000 person to say I am overthinking :p

How I worried is whether I will got backtracked if the person SHE was found as unauthorized and gave me advice, then my PR will be cancelled.

I raise this topic is because I just heard from my post-graduate college mates said there was something happened in 2015 from Hongkong office, rejected a lot of applicants (or pending till now) since they were having representative but not declared (not filled IMM5476 form).
Some of them were made decision of misrepresent and banned for applying in 5 years...
This shocked me. See following URL too, on this forum (sorry I cannot post links, the prefix of following path is canadavisa forum domain:)
/canada-immigration-discussion-board/pls-save-me%0Ci-am-dying-for-the-unauthorized-immigration-representative%20%20%20-t282488.0.html

Maybe I am not only overthinking...but more serious to anxiety disorders? LOL :-\
If you think a little, you will see that the sentence I marked in bold have no sense at all. How can your representative be not declared? Someone represents you against CIC and in the same time is not declared? Does it make sense? I think you are confused because you think that helping with filling application and represents against CIC is the same. You don't need to fill representative form for everyone who helped you with the application (even if you paid for it). Otherwise everyone on this forum would be refused as many ppl here got help from other forum members and, I guess, didn't fill representative form.

pfse,

Yes exactly. I always think I can pay someone for consulting and advicing and ask for answering questions about form, process, documents check, etc. and this is not "representative", until I read from IRCC website defines, then makes me confused and worried:

Who is a representative?

A representative is someone who provides advice, consultation, or guidance to you at any stage of the application process, or in a proceeding and, if you appoint him or her as your representative by filling out this form, has your permission to conduct business on your behalf with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).

The important part is marked in bold.

pfse,

yes, it seems to me the most important part is "by filling out this form".
So someone may use them as representative but not filling out form, but what is "represntative", it seems IRCC thought is what the website says:A representative is someone who provides advice, consultation, or guidance to you at any stage of the application process.
then this is why HK case happened.

But anyway, I have understood since most people here told me, ask paid or unpaid consultant is not "representative".

Thank you again pfse.

As many already pointed out, you're overthinking and trying to find any hidden content in IRCC form. IRCC clearly states that someone is representative only if you appoints him/her. Otherwise s/he is not representative, no matter if that person helped you with application in any way.

pfse,

I admit I may overthinking too much.
Yes, represnetative is only if applicant appoint someone. But HK case happens is "applicant appoint representative but not fill the 5476 form", this is "misrepresentation".
But if not fill 5476, how IRCC knows: is applicant "appoint" someone on behalf of applicant, or applicant just "ask for consultant"? This is what my concern is.
I just don't want the thing happen that: I ask for help from paid person, then be treated as I use "representative" but not filling the form, that is "misrepresentation" .

Now all is clear to me, I understand all mates here explained to me, I will say thank you again.
