6 months stay out of Canada

Hi,
We landed in April 2014; however we are planning to move permanently in June 2016, will this be a problem? I heard that new regulations prevents from staying out of Canada for more than 6 months, is this correct?

The new regulation that you are talking about is related to citizenship applications and not PR status. It has not taken effect yet but soon citizenship applicants will have to stay in Canada for at least 180 days a year to count those days towards the 4 out of 6 years residency requirement.
