How is it cruel ? Its a transparent system that tells you where you stand.

I want to earn $1 Billion from stock market. If I am not able to do it is it my limitation or the stock markets ?
Yeah, speaking of transparency, how's that mid year report going?

Transparency is not just restricted to reports. Do you know your CIC score. Do you know how its calculated ? Do you know why the guy next to you got an ITA ? Thats transparency.

Too many people are believing that Canada owes them something just because they took time out of their busy schedules to make a Profile. Statements like "unfair", "everyone should get a chance", "change the system" are easy to throw. But I bet you, if any of you were on the other side you would do exactly the same things.

Agreed with all the above. Canadian immigration is very transparent: they're looking for educated (Masters and higher level of education) young couples and individuals with great language skills (possibly bilingual) and who are going to benefit the system (healthy, with money on the side, having a jog offer...). In a way, this is some "interested" immigration, but I can understand why they are doing that.

For those in the 470-480: could a French (or English) test bring you additional points? I know for a fact that the French test (TEF) isn't easy (getting the highest score can be tricky, even for people whose native language is French), but getting the minimum requirements can certainly be done, and add valuable extra points to your case.

It was the trend not the promise. Immigration policies are subject to the whims of those in power. What we can do is adjust accordingly. Try ways to increase scores (Retake Ielts, Learn French, Get a PNP/LMIA). Thats action that will get results. Sulking over changes wont get you anywhere.
+1, this reserves a repost. Immigration policies change all the time, no guarantee that what you're doing now will ensure PR in the future. On the other hand, new immigration programs can be announced suddenly and open new possibilities. I've been through all that.

Pretty sure they will post it eventually. They probably have more important things to do right now, like, processing applications.

Did you think Canada was in it for social service ? Canada wanted immigrants for demographics, labor shortages and other CANDADIAN Concerns.

Add in political workings that tried to restrict/increase immigration (based on what side the party is) and we have a policy. It is based to serve Canada's needs. Not the applicants.

Should I feel bad some kid who is younger but has less experience than me, on same education gets a better score while mine goes down each year ? That would be stupid.

Learn to live with things instead of playing victim and drowning in self pity
First of all i am not the one who originaly posted the post but i do agree to an extent that it the system isnt 100% percent fair and a few adjustments will be beneficial to all one of them is separating the pnp from fsw or at least granting them lower scores but thats my opinion.for people to be in the 300 range and jump to 900 plus just because of pnp isnt right, and after all thas my opinion

I am an FSW applicant myself. I did not get an LMIA. I did what I could with my profile and left the rest to fate. But thats just my view

If keystrokes on forums could usher change we would end hunger poverty and conflicts ... but sadly that doesnt happen.

all we do is create an environment of anger which is never good. the post is not directed at you but at some of the more shocking posts.

"Ontario MUST issue Nominations", "CIC MUST CHANGE RIGHT NOW", " CIC is running a fraud".

Stuff like this is counterproductive and does not help .

I do believe that EE could have been better managed this year. It was known from 2016 targets, that more half of the target will be for pre-EE backlog and so monthly draws could not average more than 1000 for at least the first 3 quarters. However the first 5 draws in 2016 exceeded these targets and the score fell as low as 453, with around 800+ candidates being drawn from the general pool per draw. Owing to this, the past 12 draws have seen a score near enough 500 and barely 50-100 candidates being drawn from the general pool, who would be drawn anyway because of such a high score. Those with decent scores of 470-481 have lost out.

The reason why the ITAs fell to the 700s in May was to lower the average to 1000, which it has now achieved in September. They should have stuck to 1000 per draw from the Jan itself and given a fair opportunity for those with decent scores to get an ITA, rather than going all-out for the first few draws and then running at a trickle for the rest of the year. Average scores would have been in the high 460s, at least giving a chance to people.

This the average points distribution per draw so far this year (individual draws vary higher or lower):
500-600 482-499 470-481 450-469
30-50 50-70 250 500+

Improvements to EE: Since LMIA/PNP is an effectively guaranteed invitation, perhaps it should be decoupled from EE. LMIA/PNP can be automatically issued ITA and only the general pool be subject to points cutoff. This would offer much greater clarity to those waiting for an ITA. Perhaps also like Australia, there needs to be certain upper limits on individual NOCs. This would prioritise NOCs that are in demand, whilst limiting those for which there are no jobs. The NOC list could change every 6 months, as needs change. EE is a lucky draw. The Australian system offers greater clarity- if you meet minimum points and your NOC quota has not been reached, you can make a PR application, it's that simple. Those in high demand NOCs are guaranteed an ITA. Those in popular NOCs have to compete, which is fair enough.

Those with a 9 average on the IELTS could also be given additional points, amongst other things to give a chance to those who are likely to settle in well but may be a bit short on points due to age etc.

Chap doesn't cite sources for his claims such as "several thousand" ITAs per draw with score <400. These are the same speculations that have already been reported elsewhere, which he's presenting as fact.
