I m new around here ...wanna live my nursing dream in canada ...rite now in india ....i m planning on sending d documents to d chc by september end and have no idea about d registration process as a nurse ....wud greatly appreciate ur help in it ...also i just wanna share i have my NCLEX and NY RN registration but frm d previous posts got to know it is not accepted in canada ,i also have my IELTS general and academic both scores ....plzzz help me and wud greatly appreciate ur help in knowing wat my next step shd be if i have to register self as a nurse wid d nursing boards before i wud be eligible for d PR .....plzz help .....thanking u in anticipation ....

First,, you have to decide which province in Canada you are planning to pursue your nursing career. Each of the province has its own regulating body. In my case I am planning to settle in Manitoba. Could you answer please - do you have a bachelor degree? Or it is still OK for CRNM that you have 2-year nursing education to be eligible to take the exam?

I have a Bachelors degree in Nursing. It has to be a bachelors degree in Nursing (Canada equivalent), to qualify for the CRNE. 2 year nursing education might qualify for the LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse). Not so sure about this, I would suggest you visit the website of the nursing regulating body of the province where you plant to settle. CRNM is quick in giving assistance to applicants.

me and my partner are on the process of applying for FSW... we are now waiting for medical request. now hopefully if we get the request we want to start applying for CRNE...

now concern now is that where do we begin with regards to CRNE? we wanted to apply in Ontario, but we aren't that experienced compared to you guys. we are jst on our early 20s. and i think compared to some of you guys here who have had lots of experience, we are now planning to apply for CRNE in Mannitoba..

please help us on where to start. thank you

Please take note that not all provinces in Canada is giving credit to the BSN degree in the Philippines as equivalent to the BSN degree in Canada. In Ontario, registered nurses from the Phillippines usually falls as LPN equivalent in their standard. However, I know one forum member, who applied in Ontario, did not get the CRNE eligibility at first, but the decision was reversed after she appealed and showed her work experiences.
However, in Manitoba, they find BSN degree from Philippines to be equivalent to their BSN standard. I suggest visit the website of each and every nursing regulating body of all the provinces before you apply for registration.

Before, during, or after the PR processing doesnt matter. You can apply anytime you want.

Sorry M2, I dont have any idea about how long the bridging program takes.

To all those who applied with CNO...how long did it take before you received any correspondence or acknowledgment from them from the time they received your application? We just sent our applications second week of August and the our school sent our TORs and Course Description almost at the same time but until now we have not received any email or acknowledgment from them...is this normal?
