I actually called them today morning and he told me exactly this. They gave me a temporary number with X and he told I need to wait until confirm they reviewed my docs and change my application number to a permanent and only then try to link, or it won't work.

Will I get any email from permanent resident portal? Or they just change the status there and I need to keep checking times to times?

I was concerned the issue was because my "place of birth" was filled with "city/estate" and not only the "city/town" by the person who helped me. I imagined the / was causing problem.

And by the way he gave me the travel document tracking

You check with them later on if they did put the permanent number for your file. I would ask you once you receive your permanent number call them to be guided properly. I was putting all my info correctly but it was getting an error... I called them then I found my mistake.. in general the applicant number, I was putting 2 though I'd overseas spouse but it should 1. When I put 1 it was successfully linked.

I received eligibility letter by mail to my address yesterday.
What’s next after that ?
