Support Petition e‑6601: Accelerate PR for Refugees

Dear Canada Immigration Forum community,

I’ve signed Petition e‑6601and I urge you to consider supporting it too. This petition calls on the Canadian government to:

Fast-track permanent residency applications for all protected persons

Begin processing dependents abroad immediately after asylum is approved

Increase transparency and improve communication within the IRCC process

Refugees who have already been granted protection status in Canada often face years-long delays before receiving permanent residency. These delays affect their ability to work freely, access opportunities, and reunite with loved ones abroad. A faster PR process would bring stability, security, and dignity sooner.

How you can help:

1. Sign the petition on the Parliament of Canada website:
https://www.ourcommons.ca/petitions/en/Petition/Details?Petition=e-6601

2. Confirm your signature via email—unconfirmed signatures won’t be counted

3. Share the petition with your network. Every signature helps send a clear message to our leaders.

By supporting this petition, we’re asking for a more efficient and compassionate system—one that helps refugees move forward with their lives and contribute to Canadian society without unnecessary delays. Thank you for taking a moment to support this cause.

I was in the same boat, applied on feb 26, 2023, and received pre-arrival and eligibility last week one day apart. Applied for GCMS notes on May 16, 2025, haven’t received anything so far. I called IRCC many times and requested notes 3 times previously and nothing was changed since November 2023. I stopped tracking my application from last 6 months. You will get something soon. I also applied my PR without representative. It doesn’t matter if you receive your eligibility and pre-arrival earlier, everyone is still waiting. We are close to getting our final approval. Call IRCC if they say your application is under processing and they dont require any additional information- you’re good.
Did you get final decision?
