I submitted my app: Jan 29, 2015
got aor: Feb 5, 2015 (7 days)
file sent to VO: Feb 17, 2015 (19 days)
ON: April 14, 2015 I JUST GOT........................

A second aor with my wife's name and a different aor number and different file number saying that they have received the application.
When I log in with the new credentials, it says meds received and says application received jan 29, 2015..

1) what does that mean... are they working on the case?
2) eta on cic website says 18 months for me... is that still true?
3) does anyone have knowledge about 2nd air

Congrats! It means you are on the 2nd stage of the processing... They are now processing your spouse Permanent Residence application. The duration indicated on the site does not really mean it will be processed in 18 months. Processing time varies depending on your application. It can be shorter than the indicated processing time or much longer. But with your VO, i think it'll be very swift.. Since most of the spreadsheet i've visit Beirut has been always the first one to get to the finished line.

There might be delay in receiving emails. Me and my friend got the sponsorship approved a day apart. I got the email with the pdf and he didn't.

The 18 month figure is for 80% of applications. 20% of Beirut applications were processed within 9 months and half within 14 months. Plus, for many people there is always a chance of their application being held in Canada for a faster processing and to reduce the backlog in other offices. The quarterly update to the wait time figures will come out in a couple weeks, which should give a better indication if the waits are getting better or worse.

I did not.. in Brazil do not have this step, I called the consulate to see if they had received my documents.

It might seem silly but is you haven't already, try putting a dash in your UCI number ****-**** also the country of birth might need to be changed. For instance my partner was born in Wales, but I have to put England in the field on the CIC website for it to work.
