What does AOR stand for? Is my husband gonna recieve it or me?

AOR stands for Acknowledgment of Receipt and the sponsor will receive it.

If your husband is the Sponsor, he will get the e-mail. AOR = Acknowledgment of Receipt

He forwarded a picture of some xyz reciept. It had details like - Card Number, Reciept Number, Date of Payment and so on. Is that what you call an AOR?

no, the AOR is a letter received by CIC that literally says they have received your application for PR on a specific date. it has nothing to do with payment receipts.

Guys, it seems like im the only one left without any update from the CIC :-\

I'm sure it's coming soon!!

So I checked our ECAS today and it came up as Decision Made in SA field. And when I clicked on it, the message came up like this:
"1. We received your application to sponsor Awesome Husband on January 13, 2015.
2.We sent you a letter on March 24, 2015 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us."

It appears we received (hopefully) our SA on the 24th of March (7 days after AOR), but it was sent by regular mail instead of E-mail. What the hell CIC, what happened to the 21st century innovative mailing system that we asked for our correspondence.

Hi sheepdog and the collective here.

I checked ECAS right now and have exactly the same message, our date was received on the 19th but they sent a letter on the 24th ... except mine says Awesome Wife ;)

Why would we not have received an email as with the AOR?? Is this good or bad news? It has me rather nervous... (or maybe it's the 4 coffees I drank so far today)

Can we still expect an email? Would they really try to send a snail mail letter to Mexico?? Should I call?? Suggestions please!

Do not worry. I am from the December applicants and the same thing happened to me. AOR came by e-mail and SA came by snail mail. It all depends on the preference of the the CIC employee on how they send it. It is safe to assume that you were approved for SA on the 24th. They will not send an e-mail in addition when they send a regular mail letter.

Congrats on SA!

RYIT - Thanks for a quick response. I am literally freaking out here... I truly appreciate your optimism and certainly hope that our SA application was indeed approved. My concern is that there is a 50% chance it could be a denial, though I cannot image in a million years how that could be the case. It seems asinine to me that the CIC employee would choose to send a confirmation of approval to Mexico via regular mail if they knew even a little about how poor the mail system is here, especially when it is clearly documented in our application that we requested communication via email (which is confirmed by CIC in the very applications that we completed). Have they no empathy for the people they serve in this country??? (Don't answer that, I already know the answer!) >:(

We will probably NEVER receive that letter!! That is downright cruel!

Can I assume that we will receive an EMAIL confirmation of file transfer to the Mexico VO assuming I was approved?? Can I call to confirm SA??
