Kindly suggest what all documents are required to file ma case and what is the processing time for the same.

Was this an arranged marriage?

Upfront means they submitted the e-medical results with the application. This is the recommended method as it will avoid further processing delays.

Before you even submit, you should have proof that you guys have been together/met in person before the Marriage as if that hasn't happened, you will mostly certainly have difficultly getting approval without an interview(if interview is needed you are looking at a time frame of at least of 18-24 months for either the interview to be scheduled or approval this depends on the VO that the principal applicant is a citizen of) as it would seem to CIC this is a marriage of convenience or to get certain status in Canada. I would provide as much proof that you have had communication and interaction before the marriage as that is crucial to whether you will be approved or not in my opinion.

This may be a very dumb question sorry, but what does it mean in the majority of people's profile where is says "upfront" for med's done??? Does that just mean the medical exams will be done when they are requested??

Hi Jennjj,

No question is a dumb question here. Ask all the questions you like, everybody on this forum is here to help and show support. Good luck with your application ;)

AOR = Acknowledgement Of Receipt.
An email or letter to notify you that they received your application

You received AOR from who? Canada Post or CIC? If it was Canada Post, then that is not AOR, it was Canada Post just letting you know they delivered your package to its destination. AOR comes from CIC. When CIC receives your application, they put a date stamp on it, then a VO will check it for missing documents and signatures. Once your application is found to be complete, then AOR will be sent to you via email (if you have provided CIC with a valid email address in your application ) or mail. The AOR will also include your UCI file number.

I think that all December apps will get AOR by the end of next week, after next week early Jan will be getting AOR at the speed they are going. Considering the position we were in a month ago, this is all excellent news.

There is a thread for February applicants, that would be better for you as this one is for January applicants. You should start a new thread with your exact question, an expert in this forum will answer more quickly than in this thread. Good luck
