With some luck, my wife (she's the canuck) and I will be sending our applications off this coming week, just waiting on the ministry of justice for my criminal record, they have a post xmas backlog.

Bit bummed that the CIC has moved it's sponsor application review timeframe out to 81 days, but I guess that's what you have work with. Least the Sydney VO hasn't changed it's times

My husband and I are moving up there from NYC at the end of March with our two boys. We've been married since 2008.

Just submitted my application to the CPC and it was delivered on Friday (the 16th). I assume it will go to Ottawa. I sent it without the FBI report but included a note that I would forward upon receipt.

Applying for my husbands permanent residence in canada tomorrow

We are using a law firm
I am Canadian/Trinidadian/Jamaican and my husband is Polish ;D
I'm older than him by 12 years and I'm a fitness instructor.
We dated in Canada for almost 2 years, he got excluded February 2014 for overstaying 4 yrs and working, flew to marry him 6 months later in July 2014 in Poland , Denmark, gathered documents in the interim, visited him again in UK in nov 2014 , rounded up the rest of the important documents and now we are ready.

Our package is going out for processing tomorrow to CPC- Mississauga

we sent our package via fed-ex express on Saturday January 17th!

I see the package has made it across the border and waiting for delivery confirmation from Fed-Ex.

Hello all. We received the option C printout on Thursday and couriered our application Friday the 16th. Today the Canada Post tracking says it's already in Mississauga to be delivered to the Case Processing Centre Monday the 19th! My nerves just kicked in knowing they will be receiving it on Monday.

Congrats!!!! Ours arrivied there on January 16th! Looks like we will have the same time line! Good Luck

You only had to wait 7 weeks? I'm jealous. I'm on my 9th week now and nothing. I'm going to call them at the end of this week and see if I can find out something. I'm thinking of just sending my application with a note telling them I'll send the police clearance later.

Hello Everyone!

Our application was received in Mississauga on Friday, January 16th! Very excited to start this process. I am currently living in Santiago, Chile with my husband and according to the cic.gc.ca website I believe if all goes well and I am approved to be the sponsor, they will be sending our application to Mexico City to be processed. I have been very nervous because we were advised I may not qualify as a sponsor as we filled that I am living exclusively outside Canada with him and can not show income in Canada. I have been doing some research and I understand there is no exact income amount for Canadian citizens sponsoring their spouse...but since being advised by a professional I am still a bit nervous. I have been living here with him for the past 2 years only working part time teaching English. I was mostly paid by cash. My bank account here is in my husbands name as it was easier to open that way, so the few times people did a bank transfer into my account it shows his name. We sent those transfers as proof along with a few letters explaining our plans to move to Calgary as soon as the application is processed. Fingers crossed!

I had to request a second FBI clearance because my husband and I had to wait so long for a marriage certificate fix (they put me as born in Ontario when I'm American.. then they forgot to mail us the new cert) that it passed the 3 month mark. We decided to just go ahead and send in our application since sponsor approval is looking to be 60-80 days now. Even with the new backups at FBI that should put us pretty on track for our submission. I hope anyway!

I think it was 7 weeks from when they cashed our check.
This is just the beginning but I need to remind myself daily, everything in it's time.

I did the same thing, I'm current living in the USA with my husband and have no Canadian income. Since there is no set amount that you need to make to be a spouse sponsor, I didn't worry about it. I explained my transition plan to Canada and how I would support us with freelance projects, and also showed the balance of our Canadian bank account.
