Though my wife and I have been married for 2 years and together for 4 years, both of us living in Mexico the entire time, there is a big age difference between the 2 of us and I'm sure that could raise a red flag for CIC. We both wrote cover letters addressing the age difference, and are submitting well over 200 pictures showing the progress of our relation, along with 13 "knowledge of relationship" letters from family and friends, along with text message print out and alot of additional support documentation. Hopefully that will be sufficient to prove a real and continuing relationship.

Hope it will be okay if I join this thread, as our application was sent in late December and I don't see any outland spousal December thread :)

December Outland thread is here:

*CIC Updated the AOR/Sponsorship Approval from 60 days to 81 days!!! :( :( :( They are still working on applications received on October 20, 2014.. So for January 2015 applications, the estimated time to received our AOR will be between end of March or April.

But let's all be positive and hope that the next update (next week) will be a much faster processing and lesser days of waiting.

Goodluck everyone!

LOL, the backlog at CIC continues, 81 days :-[

Hi all,

I am new to this thread. My husband just moved to Canada and he plans to sponsor me this January. Hopefully before the end of the month. I can see that some people have already done their medicals. Is it necessary to do this before I am asked to or do we wait unitil I am asked to do so. We are both from Nigeria.

Thanks

I'm gathering all the papers! I'm just waiting for the police check from Spain (I lived there 2 years but I am from Venezuela). I have a question. How can I add information about the photos, the information package says that photos must be loose. Thanks in advance for your help :)

For spousal visa it is mandatory to do medical in advance. Make sure you do it just a few days before you plan to send your application package, because medical is valid only for 1 year. :)

What they meant about 'loose photos' is no photos should be on albums.

I have organized my photos by:

1. Printing the photos regularly on a photo paper. (because it is much practical than printing them all on our home printer)
2. Organized them in chronological order from the year that we meet until our latest photos in 2014.
3. Wrote the description and caption (People in the photos and their relationship to principal applicant/sponsor, date and place taken.) using MS-Word and then print

** You can print the photo in any size as long as the picture is clear. Photo paper is not actually a requirement but most of the people would rather spend printing them on a photo paper (via any photo center) rather than spending so much money on ink/toner on your home printer.

Hope this helps! :D

Oh yah, almost! I sent out my application January 2, 2015 and CIC received them on January 5 (according to the tracking number given by Canada Post) Hoping the processing this year will be much faster! Good luck to all of us :)
