Question,

Is it a bad thing that they jumped directly to interview without asking for addition documents? Does anyone know if that means I'll be waiting longer because of "interview queue" or is it technically a good thing?

It's not necessarily a good thing that they requested an interview. They obviously feel like they need more information to determine the legitimacy of the relationship. Still, it's not the end of the world if you go into it prepared and truthful.

There are threads here that have information regarding the interview and potential questions. From what I've read, after the interview, the decision is made rather quickly, and you're either denied or issued your necessary papers to enter into Canada right away or a few days later.

I can't say if having an interview does or doesn't delay or extend the time it would normally take. Anyone else know that answer?

Thanks Ineffable,

I ordered notes so hopefully I can prepare my husband better as to what their questions are. Thankfully the things about hobbies and my interests he knows already, so im not worried about that

Then you should be okay. Definitely go in there and be honest, and look for some questions ahead of time and go over them.

If there's a silver lining here, it's that you'll know soon after the interview if the application is approved or denied, and you can move on to hopefully start your lives together in Canada. :)

Yes but the Amman VO takes forever. They told me I should receive an update on Nov 5th stating they want to interview but I havent even received that. AND im sure that the interview queue is like 5 years....

Checked today and got a big DM!!!!!! They never asked for more info and we got a DM on the web site I hope when we get the letter in the mail it says they are granting him PR but as of right now not sure which way it went! But super excited!!! I didn't check last week so not sure if it went to DM this week or last week but we are awaiting the letter which can take a couple weeks. EEEK I hope it is good news!

So today I received a letter from London (England) Saying I need to provide an up to date police check from where the residence has been 6 months or Longer from when I was 18. I sent the UK one in, I need one from Australia (where I was for 8 Months) and also Im unsure if I need one for Canada as Ive been here on a Visitor visa since Jan. Says I need to pay Right of PR Fee.

Does this mean theyre looking at my application? Am I almost there?

Thanks

If you weren't asked for more info or an interview, it's more than likely it was approved. Congrats!

They want to meet with you to ask you questions directly.
When my husband went for his interview we actually brought additional proof to the Visa Office. We submitted more pictures, facebook chat as well as proof of support.

Prepare yourself and bring what you can.

It's been 3 months since they requested additional documents.
Do you guys know the next steps after this? Is it PPR or straight issuing a visa?
I'm going to visit my spouse next month to be with her this xmas, i wish she will get her visa while I'm there :(

When they ask for additional information it is because they want clarity on something.
My suggestion would be to follow up with the visa office via email and ask them how far you are in the process.
You might get lucky and get a response.

I emailed the visa office in POS and the next day we got an invite for an interview.

I depends on if she's from a visa-exempt country as to whether or not she'll get a PPR request or COPR. What country is she coming from?

Ive emailed CIC already but we received an email saying they cant answer anything about the status and the only thing we can do is wait and be patience because it is still in normal processing time. So I guess there's no update yet.
