IP on sept 5... thats it.

I know it’s tough I definitely hear you, be strong my dear... I am on the same boat as you... My husband is not working right now and he feels horrible that he can’t provide for me...honestly, I am not in the best mood either... I get so depressed without him around, I just feel like something is missing...So I hear you... but WE NEED to be strong for our husbands... be constantly the light that they need to encourage them... Men are weak beings that’s what I find, and it is our duty as a wife to be the encouragement even when it doesn’t look like it is going well... I am hoping for a DM for you and for me my friend... There has been some mistakes on my husband’s application... and I was fearing that it will delay it... I don’t know that, but it will not help our relationship if I think negatively... I am hoping for the application to pass soon! For you and for me!

We filed our application about the same time as you. We went In Progress on October 9, were included in the large batch of generic document request emails that went out on October 23 (which I responded to on Nov. 2) and there has been nothing new to report since.

From what I can tell it seems like people are going to decision made about 2 months after they go to in process. But those are for people that get the generic email right around the same time as they go in process. For example, I got the generic email 9/22, and showed in process the next day in ECAS and am still waiting to go to decision made. Others I've seen get DM have had similar timelines in terms of when the generic email went out and when they've gotten DM.

So I can't say which is the chicken and which is the egg when it comes to where the roughly two months starts...

And Pollen - hang in there as best you can. I really feel for you and your situation and hope it ends soon in a happy reunion.

I have never gotten a single email from CIC. We went in procress in August and I got our Receipt of Application dated on May 20th in the mail and then I got the letter about me being accepted as a sponsor and that his file is being transferred dated June 25th. Maybe they are sending things to the wrong email? Maybe we really are in trouble? I'm terrified. I'm not sure if it is a good idea to call and ask to speak to the person covering our file or not. I feel like I should have gotten the same email everyone else has. Is the sponsor acceptance / file transfer letter I received the same as the generic one you are talking about? Is it possible to go to DM without a request for more info letter? Pretty soon we will both be homeless so I hope I am worrying about nothing. What do you guys think I should do? Would they send a letter in the mail if the email went to trash and they didn't hear back from us for a while? I don't know what to do.

The email people are getting is going to the person who is the applicant and is not the same as the sponsor approval email. Does your husband still have access to email, and is it the same email address that was used when you applied? He's the one that would have gotten the email. If something has changed with his ability to access that email address, then that's a problem, as CIC will not send something by mail if you and your husband asked for everything by email.

I don't think you are in trouble since the things being asked about in the email are frankly pretty silly if the sponsor is living in Canada already (which you are) and if all the fees have been paid. However if something has changed with your husband's email, I would consider sending a case specific email to Ottawa. You can also try the call center, but they are not likely to be very helpful, and you will never get to the person handling your file on the phone.

I just received my husband’s gcms notes today...some are good some are bad... when does the fbi expire? Cause I really am concerned as my husband’s criminal check hasn’t even started yet...it still says “In progress” They assumed my husband’s nephews and niece are his on the grounds that we have a lot of pictures together, so they were requesting additional documents for them to be added in his application. OMG. how in the world would you just assume that? SIGH!!!

Just answered in the other thread where you posted, but they don't expire. The important thing is that they are received by CIC within 6 months of when the check was done. Also remember that GCMS notes are based on how far along they were on your case about a month ago. So it's possible that they have started other checks in the last 30 days and it wouldn't show up in the notes.

Oh yes I see your answer on the other page...lol Yeah it’s possible they have entered more checks but the good news is that they are working in it and all looks well from the repost I hot with the relationship and medical...so final stages for criminality and security is where we are now from what I am seeing in the timeline! Hoping for the best!!!

Hey, we have almost the same tuff on gems notes, I am hoping for Christmas with hubby too, think positive!!!! It will all be worth it in the end!

Can someone explain this old vs. new in process for me. I read the other thread and I just dont get it.

The Amman VO received my application may 27th, and only recently did my e-Cas change to in process, BUT it says that they started processing on July 2nd. Im ordering my notes and ill wait 30 days but what does in process mean.

ALSO

I emailed the embassy to ask for an update and all they said was "the file is in queue for officer review"

What does that mean?? Am I even in process?? Has an officer even looked at it???

This whole situation is SO CONFUSING!!!!! they really need to make a better infographic outlining exactly what stage means for goodness sakes....
