Hey, everyone!

My husband is American. I am Canadian.

We have heard nothing since the letter I received in May and... as you all know, it's so difficult to plan a life when you have no idea what the heck is going on. Someone send some positive vibes/info my way, please.

I'm pretty sure I'm being impatient, but I really have no idea what to expect. I have so many friends from all over the place who have had so many different (recent) experiences. I know that most of you are in the same boat as us, but I was wondering if anyone has an inkling as to when we can expect to be able to have him move here, that'd be greeeeeeeeeat. ;)

Cheers!

Your best bet is to check out the spreadsheet here.

Sadly, some VOs process the paperwork much faster than the rest of us (like Manilla as you've been seeing with this April group).

You can see the breakdown by VO on the link above. The spreadsheet is not the greatest representation of time, but it does help somewhat as you can see when others start to move to the next stages. The reality is that Canada processes over 45,000 spousal applications a year, and that chart has data of a fraction of that number.

(Your VO will be Ottawa since your husband is American.)

I'm an American who's waiting, and I'm personally am not expecting anything faster than 5 months. I'd genuinely thankful to get PR by Christmas, though I'm not going to allow myself to get my hopes up.

You can order case notes online under the information act, and they'll email you those. You might be able to see where they are or what they've done with your husband's file. You can read about that here.

Best of luck to you! Let's hope our Ottawa CIC workers are getting ample sleep and plenty of coffee to speed through the piles.

Hi!
Thanks for starting this thread!
I do not see any applicant getting their paperwork processed in Bogota, Colombia. Well, since June 10th when my husband's sponsorship was approved I have not heard anything other than they received my medical results. How hard it is to be waiting without any idea of when the process is going to go through!
I am on H1 Visa working in the US, my hubby is Canadian. We've been married for eight years. No kids.

Sponsorship (my hubby)
We received ----------------------s application for permanent residence on April 10, 2015.
We started processing your application on May 5, 2015.
We sent you correspondence on June 4, 2015 about the decision on your application.

Permanent Residence (me)
We received ----------------------s application for permanent residence on April 10, 2015..
Medical results have been received

Still in process............ I need good news pleeeeeeeeeeease!

Hey Everyone,

First of all @toffboss congratulation!!! I'm so happy to hear you got DM now to get the visa. As for myself there has been no change in our status still shows application receive. If it didn't happen this week, then it will happen next week :). Did anyone else got a status change? Have a wonderful upcoming weekend everyone. Let's stay positive and keep praying to God. For sure this upcoming week will see some more VOH. :)

Hi ronaldotoronto! It looks like you and I are still waiting. I see at least you had some acknowledgement from your VO. I have had nothing since my SA on June 1, 2015.

I wish there was some kind of communication so at least I would know they even received my husband's application. We no nothing :o :o

But there isn't much to do but just sit and wait. I feel a little better that I am not the only one waiting.

Hi Ash,

Got an email from SP VO requesting the police certificate last week and another document. We had submitted these with our application initially. I emailed it to them and haven't heard anything. Sent them another email yesterday and no replies, nothing. I'm in the dark right now.

ECAS still showing "Application Received".

I tried calling their office but no one answers the phone.

Any update guys?

My application is at the VO in Amman and e-CAS is still showing Application Received. It's been their since May 28.
Finger crossed it turn into 'In process ' before the end of the month.

I think the next step of your application is that they will send you PPR

I wonder why an applicant from Manila got In Process status without her passport request? Is it possible? ... :-X

Hi @toffboss and why is that applicants who had been requested for their passporrts still status is application received then?

idk why there is this new trend at CEM about the in process without PPR.. For apps still received but with PP, there are so many scenarios we can create in our minds why it is the case, but always you may contact them via email. It is the people who process your app that updates your ecas as i read here in the forum.
