Hi Everyone!
Just saw this forum and I know it will be a great help for me and for my husband. I'm from the Philippines, I just wanna know if someone can give us advice/words about our application. We sent our application last April 14, then the CIC received it April17, 2015. We are now hesitant about our application because it was written-by-hand and we don't have the barcode for validation. We followed the same application procedures of my husband's brothers when they sponsored their wives that's why it was written-by-hand. It was a late noticed that we should completed it electronically, we already sent the application to Missisauga and that's the reason why I'm so confused right now about our application. My husband got to know someone in Canada who is sponsoring his wife living here in the Philippines also, we have the same date April 17, 2015 and last week he told my husband that he already got the sponsorship approval. It was very sad for us that my husband is not yet approved and we can't do nothing. I hope someone here can help me enlighten on this matter.

Thank you and God Bless to all of us!
Happy Canada Day!!!

Hi Guys,

I applied on April 27th and received first AOR on 20th May! I am still waiting on my SA and when I called CIC last week, the lady said you were approved on June 22nd and you should wait for the letter, it might take two weeks. But today, I noticed that so many April 29th applicants receiving SA and my ECAS is still showing in process!! I called CIC again and the guy said there is no update on your file whether its approved or not! The decision is still pending and he is going to email about this matter! I should wait until Sep 30th to get some update! This is so frustrating! I have already booked ticket to India to fly back and spend sometime there, I think I have to cancel my plan until I receive SA. CIC is so unfair sometimes!

If you called and they told you that you got SA then you got your sponsorship approved. I was in the same situation and it took 2 weeks to actually get an email - after I called.

Happy Canada day everyone. I wish for all April 2015 applicants success!!!! :)

If anything they would have sent you back the application, that's typically what they do if there's missing things (signatures, information, ect). Since you've gone past the 55 days you are now able to get information from the CIC call centre. Contact them and they should give you a better answer on what's going on with your application.

Thanks jesmithers!

ASHABU it really depends on the visa office. Some of them will send you an AOR2 and others will just after months of waiting send you a request for additional information or your passport. I know not the best answer. You might want to look in the forum for people that have gone through the same visa office as you.

Hello April friends!

The CIC updated their processing times table today.

They're now working on applications received on May 4, 2015.

If you have not received SA and your app was received on or before then, you can now call them to find out the status of your application.

I do love the CIC's math and organization skills.

As of this morning, they were working on applications from April 29th, and showed an update on the website of June 16. Now, on July 2nd, they've said their most recent update is from June 23rd and working on apps from May 4th.

Essentially: they don't want the onslaught of calls they know they'd get because they're so far behind, so they wait several weeks to update anything. :-X

Anyways, good news to those who are wondering where their SA is for April applicants. :D

Hello all,

So I just got off the phone with CIC. First agent was rude and told me to not call back until they email me!!! So I called again, another 20 mins wait, and this second agent at least was nicer and explained why he wasn't even going to even open my application. So because I submitted an inquiry last week, I have to wait for either the status on ecas to say decision made or for an email/ letter from CIC requesting more info or whatever is going on with my case. He then went on to say it could take up to 3 months for the Mississauga centre to open the "inqury" CIC Call Centre submitted. I don't understand why mine is showing just "in process" or why they can't at least take the time to open the file to check for an update. We all know they take forever to send emails :(

I feel so hopeless and clueless right now.
