Hello,
Both the sponsor and the applicant got a different UIC number. Make sure you use the right one for the right user.
I could never manage to connect using the application number before we got our AoR and both our UICs.
If you are sure you enter the right information, name, birth date and relevant country then it might be you experience a similar problem as some users have experienced since a week. There are like 3 threads on that topic in the family class sponsorship section.

Hi all,

I've been reading through this very useful post and now I'd like to add another data point.

Application submitted to Vegreville: November 23, 2012
Application received: November 26, 2012
Received email stating that application had been received: January 16, 2013
Received request for CSQ: February 6, 2013

I'll take the application in to the MICC in person later today.

For background information, I'm a Canadian citizen sponsoring my Croatian husband. I'd lived away from Canada for a long time, but in February 2011, he received a job offer in Montreal and so we got married in July 2011 and moved here. (He is here on a work permit.) We had been dating for several years but had not married because our jobs had always been in different cities. So his application includes about twenty photos which cover the period of our dating and documents from our fifteen months of living together in Montreal. Hopefully there won't be any trouble about our getting married right before coming to Canada.

Thanks to all of you who have put together the helpful timelines and shared their stories. It really makes the process easier.

I found that I could not check my status on-line until after the CIC had sent me an email stating that they had received my application. Now I log in with my (the applicants) UCI, Name, DoB etc.

I could also check my application status on ecas after I got the email that my application was received. I could check it until today where I cannot log into ecas using either the sponsor or person sponsored client number.

It had only ever said application recieved.

vinlander... nothing yet? did you call them?
I called tuesday morning but since I am only the sponsor the agent said we would need to fill an additional form to add me as a representative...Yesterday morning she called from work, but forgot to take note of her UIC before hand (I am the one who was checking everyday since a year ;) ). She will try again this morning. Based on the answer we got (as far as the agent could suggest) we are still under the 59 days +14 for post Canada...yeah yeah...we will see.
Good thing is we don't need that card for a while we could manage to get her perm SIN the day we landed and we don't plan to travel before long...But still it sucks that we have trouble at that last stretch when everything went smooth and we want a closure on that whole process!

I called the MICC to check up on the status of my Quebec Selection Certificate and I was advised that it was issued yesterday and that I should receive it within 2 weeks!! Although I am expecting for it to take about 4 working days for it to be mailed out.

I know there are a few people who sent their application the same time as me, I advise you to phone for a status update.

The number is - 514 864-9191, For English - option 9, (Ignore The Service Canada Recording), then option, 1 and finally option 3. They were fine giving the sponsored person the information.

Thanks Ill call Monday.

Also does anyone have any recommendations (or a link to another thread) on where I should get my Meds done? I'm currently living near Saint George so Quebec City is a little closer than Montreal.
