We need to ask one MP to sponsor a formal petition on Parliament website. If 10,000 signatures can be collected it will be discussed in Parliament. Anyone thinking of any MP that can do this?
Major issues:
- Long processing for PGP despite promises to speed it up as part of Family Class immigration reforms by Liberals
- Out of order PGP processing
- Discriminatory PGP processing for some countries and regions
- Using medical furtherance and DNA tests as excuses for delays for spouses and parents reunification
- Different processing protocols at different visa offices
- CPC-Ottawa is used to expedite applications from preferred nationalities instead of clearing the backlog
From my previous experience to meet Politicians, I was NOT willing to meet any MP. Many people on this forum also recommend to meet your MP. Even one said, his parents sponsorship case file was closed, but when MP approached to CIC officer, they reopen again and his file processed very fast. I don't know how true it is?
As some of my friends also told me there is no harm to meet MP. So today i visited MP office. I was their WITHOUT appointment. After filling up consent form at front desk, the girl there asked MP if I can meet MP. May be due working day, not many people or wait time. MP gave me time to meet immediately . MP called CIC and got update . MP was surprised to know that file is waiting since 6 years just to check sponsor's eligibility. Even i have discussed with MP that cases filed after 2011 are being processed faster. But MP's reply was those are NOT issued VISA's yet. I told her i will update that too. I don't know how we can prove this? Means files submitted after 2011 are being processed faster
On the other hand MP was too quick to help out. And I heard MP was asking to CIC why it is taking so long.
So, i don't know which MP can take this? or how we can push MP offices to do this?. We have to show something to prove these are being processed faster. I know they know it , but we have to show them some how.
First of all we all have to convince our MP's that there are lots of parents' applications waiting/pending/Not being processed since years. I don't know how that can be done.
