I also applied at the same time as you and would agree with the fact that you should phone CIC. Also order your gcms notes to see what has been done on your file.

If your file was sent to secondary review it should be mentioned in your notes.

You should have heard something by now.
What is the meaning of secondary review. ? Why the file goes for secondary review?

Called call center and found that my files is transferred for secondary review. Very Few files are going this route. Some how they are determining financial eligibility for number of dependents

Does any body know, how much time it would take? . As very few files are going through this route call center agent does not know about what will happen next. One thing for sure, Call center agent have no concern about your issue. They just want to get rid of you as soon as possible. Their tone changed when you ask more questions

Very frustrating. It is really a long long time . Internal feeling is I made really a WRONG decision (to migrate to Canada) 12 years before. :( So Sad

I would say while waiting answer for here. Go through the guide or call CIC call center as well. May be CIC call center would be able to answer?

Hi Guys,

May be helpful for some one who got the letter saying "Your file is for Pending Review"

By talking to other members found that, whenever you have number of dependents changed (increased/decreased) then CIC put your file for another/secondary review to access your financial eligibility.

I am NOT immigration expert. Just guessing from the posts and information from other members here. If any one has more information please tell. Thanks for those members who helped to understand this.

One of the member was asked financial documents again and when he submitted , got approval in one week.

We need to ask one MP to sponsor a formal petition on Parliament website. If 10,000 signatures can be collected it will be discussed in Parliament. Anyone thinking of any MP that can do this?

Major issues:
- Long processing for PGP despite promises to speed it up as part of Family Class immigration reforms by Liberals
- Out of order PGP processing
- Discriminatory PGP processing for some countries and regions
- Using medical furtherance and DNA tests as excuses for delays for spouses and parents reunification
- Different processing protocols at different visa offices
- CPC-Ottawa is used to expedite applications from preferred nationalities instead of clearing the backlog

From my previous experience to meet Politicians, I was NOT willing to meet any MP. Many people on this forum also recommend to meet your MP. Even one said, his parents sponsorship case file was closed, but when MP approached to CIC officer, they reopen again and his file processed very fast. I don't know how true it is?

As some of my friends also told me there is no harm to meet MP. So today i visited MP office. I was their WITHOUT appointment. After filling up consent form at front desk, the girl there asked MP if I can meet MP. May be due working day, not many people or wait time. MP gave me time to meet immediately . MP called CIC and got update . MP was surprised to know that file is waiting since 6 years just to check sponsor's eligibility. Even i have discussed with MP that cases filed after 2011 are being processed faster. But MP's reply was those are NOT issued VISA's yet. I told her i will update that too. I don't know how we can prove this? Means files submitted after 2011 are being processed faster

On the other hand MP was too quick to help out. And I heard MP was asking to CIC why it is taking so long.

So, i don't know which MP can take this? or how we can push MP offices to do this?. We have to show something to prove these are being processed faster. I know they know it , but we have to show them some how.

First of all we all have to convince our MP's that there are lots of parents' applications waiting/pending/Not being processed since years. I don't know how that can be done.

Who is your MP?

If you can provide proof to back up your points, will he sponsor a petition?

Hi There,

I applied in April 2011 and I have received an eligibility letter a month ago. My file transferred to Ottawa's office. My mom is a resident of Iran. I sent everything that they asked even the landing fee. I think next step is medical. Does anybody know how longer does it take?

what you came to know is true, there were few cases on 2011 batch, check with ravi@yahoo, i think he too had change in family size,

its lots of work to go back and read all the posts, did you get your GCSM notes, looks like they are running slow this mothe. in my case i have applied for GCSM notes on 1st of July 2016 and haven't received my notes yet. last time i got them in 15 days

did your family size change, and did you inform them?

did you take any kind of social assistance?

in my case my file was pending Social Assistance and back ground check for three months

we have started a petition to minister-of-immigration few months ago but we could not get more than 66 signed, if you can run with it good luck

https://www.change.org/p/to-mp-john-mccallum-minister-of-immigration-refugees-and-citizenship-cic-canada-should-fast-track-processing-of-pgp-applications

Normally once your case pass certain stage, you see people dropping off

The truth is , we won't get many people who can be effective for MP to start all this. As other post mentioned about petition and did not pass 66 people.

Also it was first time I had visited MP Office. I don't think MP will agree to start petition. But actually we can try to push MP office, as much as we can. Let see how many people read this and agreed upon.
