Update - I got medical request for parents early this morning. (from Ottawa)

But I've never received approval letter.

Have you recieved an email? The email that i recieved yesterday states that in order for us to continue processing your application, we require the following

- Medical examination; please note that medical instruction forms will be emailed separately.

I haven't recieved any forms for medical instructions yet. What are those forms? Do we need them to go through medical?

There are 2 things in the email

1) Instructions on where to take medical exams (a URL link to cic website) for registered dr., as well as what to bring (this is just body text in the email)
2) PDF form with name, and UCI number. The PDF form is for Dr. and has to bring it along with the examination. (this is an attachment)

Correction: the instruction is actually a part of PDF. Not body text.
But only 1 attachment (PDF) for instruction and medical request form.

Sorry, if i am posting in wrong Forum.

I have applied for parents sponsorship in June 2010. But that forum is not much active. I was going crazy and reading through forums , answers to get help for me to understand the status of my application. I have found some useful information on this forums, so posting question here. Seems really smart and active members here.

I had applied in June 2010. Submitted additional Docs in March 2015. I had got the letter in Feb, 2016 from CIC saying

"This is to acknowledge receipt of your sponsorship application and to advice that your file is presently pending for review by an officer.You will be contacted in the future if further information is required or as soon as the decision on your application is finalized"

Does anybody knows what that mean is?. How much time it will take to complete "Pending review"? and what is the next step?

This is the first letter i got after submitting Docs, requested for CIC in July/August 2014

" We have started process in August 2015"

If process started in August 2015, why Letter of acknowledgement took 6 months (Feb 2016) to send to me. It is almost one year since CIC start process. No idea how all that work.

I have requested information (all documents) under ATIP. It was supposed to come in 30 days (Around 15th June, 2016) . Till date i did NOT got it. Getting email from ATIP we have raised the priority on your case. I feel like i am stuck.

I am little worried. Why my file is taking so long?. No reason provided. What are my options. Can anybody please shed light (on basis of information provided) what is going on? how much time it will take to move to next step. For what it is waiting for? What is "Pending review"

Also some wrote he was submitting ATIP request every after 20 days. Is it won't delay application process.? is it ok to do that every 20 days?

Any help please?

Information on eCAS is not true representation of your file, true status representation of your fill would be in GCSM notes. if you have multiple GCSM notes you would be able to compare them next to each other and will be able to view the progress.

unfortunately government of canada is charging just $5 per request (equal to two large double double) so everyone is placing GCSM notes request.

about six months ago we used to get feedback in 10 to 15 days, not it taking almost 30 business days or even more (summer time, vacation time)

normally they try to address the file with in the 11 months from the date of second acknowledgement, this is what the call center agent said to me. if you are with in the 11 months period they don't even bother to look into your file.

best thing you could do is
a. Call the call center and say you have crossed 11 months time period and ask they to check the status, you may have to try it couple of times, some agents are helpful when compared to other, so try your luck

b. wait for you GCSM notes.

c. go to your local MP

Hey Everyone! I am new here and have a few questions that I am hoping someone can help answer:

I applied in Nov 2011 and received my Sponsorship approval today. When I checked online today, the status for Sponsorship and Application both shows as "Application Received".

1) Is there usually a delay as to when they update the online status?
2) From the time you receive the approval, how many months can it take on average for medical request / passport request?
3) Once you receive the passport request, what is the average timeline to actually be able to travel to Canada for landing?

(My local visa office is Singapore)

its 11 months from the date you have received the acknowledgement letter for additional documentation, and it says we have determined that you application is complete and it's in the processing queue, at this stage they call it as meeting R10 requirements, means that you have submitted all the required documentation.

but normally it takes six to eight months for the date you have received acknowledgement.

looks like they are doing background check on the sponsor too, they are checking your travel document, did you take social assistance, etc

they will be going through each and every line of your documents, even check box.
in my case i forgot to check box in my initial application in Year 2011, whey were not to hard on it (i.e. did not reject my application) but they called my home, and gave an appointment time (Phone) for both me and my wife, spoke to us and then as to have the documented edited and emailed to them.

they will be going through your parents documentation (i.e. additional documentation) if they meet their requirements, you should be getting feed back in six to eight months

Sorry i had not payed attention to dates, i am 2011 batch. not sure process and wait time for 2010 and 2011 batch is the same.

However in your case it has been almost one and a half year since you have submitted you application. so you should call Call center and check.

at same time you might have a copy of what you have submitted, you should proof read you submitted documents and check if you have submitted all the information they have requested, and organized them in the way they wanted it to be (check list)

the success trick is how clear and accurate your documentation is

Nice explanation. And I believe it is true.

I never got a letter mentioning that "YOUR APPLICATION IS COMPLETE". The Letter i got it mentioning "Pending review". So my understanding is my application is even waiting for marking as COMPLETE.

After that i will be in Process queue and then go to DECISION MADE. After that medical and VISA etc.

Vow!. It is super super long wait time. After six years even it is NOT determined yet that weather my application in COMPLETE or NOT COMPLETE.

I am not trying to scare you but if you look at the following links you would have an idea on lead time, in addition no one would be able to predict about file without looking into details. all you can do is call CPC and read GCMS notes, you better follow-up on your file, once your parents hit 65 time is ticking.

in my case my parents are not doing good, i am not sure whether they would be willing to relocate? six years and another year or two is too long

Hi another immigrant..it's Ravi....I received same letter like u end of March....Ecas showing my file is in process since January...I order notes...seems like they did not touch anything yet... no idea....I order again notes will receive next month will see what's difference between them...if any process happened.
