Process application: Oct 25, 2012.
Residence questionnaire requested CIT 0171 (09-2012) E version : Nov 30, 2012.
Residence questionnaire sent: January 9, 2013.
1st Fingerprint Request: January 24, 2013.
1st Fingerprint sent: February 11, 2013.
Text Exam: February 7, 2014 and passed at St Clair office.
2nd Fingerprint sent: February 11, 2014.
2 Mini Residence questionnaire requested CIT 0520 (07-2014) E version : December 17, 2014
File assigned to officer: December 17, 2014
Additional documents sent: March 14, 2015
Additional documents received: March 16, 2015

I am completely lost now. My timeline looks like
Application received on May 30, 2011.
Started processing application on January 11, 2012.
Appeared in citizenship Test: August 7, 2012 (Test Passed)
RQ handed over on the day of the test
RQ submitted: Sept 2012
We sent you correspondence on February 20, 2015. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.
The funny part is that letter on Feb 20th doesn't ask for any documents and simply a feedback on my enquiry to Call Centre with a response that your file is under process / evaluation and I would be notified once completed. I am confused now, what to do?
Since then no update, and always same answer from Call Centre, that the case is under process, and I need to wait.
I have requested for ATIP and let's see what it comes up with. I am completely fed up and disappointed now. I need an answer in Yes or No to continue with my life.
It has simply become a nightmare, and CIC is not giving any attention to our misery

This is normal, I got the same message as yours when I enquire and submit a case
specific query and got the same reply as yours do not worry.
My application status pending since January 2012.
Better you can order the ATIP report which provide you some information
about the where about and do not loose hope things will be better for you soon.
my case pending since 42 months, and whenever I call the CIC call centre inform
in progress and we can hear from them soon. hopefully your case will be finalize soon.

Thanks Janoo for your encouraging remarks. However do you suggest to talk to any lawyer to expedite the case? and anyone can suggest a good lawyer.

Your long journey is almost over. Best wishes!!When you call the call center they tell you that if you use bad or intimidating language the agent will disconnect you. I have never seen such a message in any federal or provincial institution I have been dealing with. Seems they get many angry calls.
Very interesting...may I ask what they asked you in the 2 CIT0520?
I was first asked to provide my Record of Employments, Tax Assessments, Health Records, Leases and then sometimes in March I was asked to provide my Entry/Exit records from the U.S which is where things are now stuck.

Lawyer will charge you approx 5 K and time needed will be more than 4-6 months
depend on how quick federal court provide the time to hear the case etc..
As per CIC website all pending cases will be finish with in this year.
My case pending since January 2012. No progress.

I called the CIC today to get an update. They said they cannot access my file to check the status until 6 months after the test. If I don't hear from them within the next 6 months then I should send a case specific inquiry. New rules apparently. Bloody hell!
