NO? I do not need test as am over 60 years...

my case pending since 39 months...

That makes your case just a month younger than mine and I just got my oath. Your situation is harder to judge because you didn't have the test/interview so it hard to tell where you are at.

Hi walrus...

Keep in touch and any progress update , I do not see any other solution

other than wait.... hiring a lawyer etc.. is expensive exercise....

Lawyers cannot help you. I hired them paid thousands it is a complete waste of money. If you have no progress after bill C24 goes into effect reapply with your tax returns.

Hi! everyone,
I am on the same boat as you are. I have been frustrated with the unreasonable long process as you do. This forum has helped me with lots of info and let me know that I am not alone.
Today, I happened to check my online application status and unexpectedly, I found that my oath schedule will be on April 14th!!!!

My journey took 41 months (3 years and 5 months) from application date to the upcoming oath taken day. I completed all the requirements to become a citizen, it has been a mystery to me why I received RQ. Here is my time line which I hope it may help others to expect for yours as it had helped me from knowing other people's timeline:

November 2011: Application date
December 2012: File opened, RQ issued
January 2013: Submitted RQ
April 2014: Test date, unfortunately, I have never received a letter and I did not check my online application status during March and April because I got bored to see nothing had been changed. May 2014: Happened to check online status, found out that the test date had passed, sent letter and supporting documents to CIC, requested to reschedule
August 2014: Test and interview date, Passed.
After 3 months from the test date, ordered ATIP, called CIC once a month, no useful info...
April 14th, 2015: Oath taken schedule (Took 8 months after test date!)

It has been a long emotional journey. It seems that CIC is working on clearing the backlog. My best wishes to everyone who is still waiting, I totally understand how you feel. Your day will come soon......

Congratulation.... wish you all the best of luck in your future life...

your some how delay due to miss the test date ?? mine am waiting and

waiting since 38 months and no progress on status... am 61 years of age

and no need for test as per law... still am waiting , Since November 2014,

I was told that my file assigned to the Officer... my file with St.Clair in March 2013..

after 20 months the file assigned to officer and now almost 130 days with the officer

review have nothing else I can do other than wait... calling MP, Minister order ATIP

submit matter to case management .. no progress same answer file under

officer review.....

Hi! Janoo...Thank you for your kind words!
Your application date was 2 months after me, so I strongly believe that you will hear something soon since they are clearing the backlog. Nothing we can do to speed up the process, just wait patiently. We happened to be in the unfortunate group. I have been crazy to wait for it everyday but once I made up my minds that it may take another year or two and I should live my life, then suddenly, it came!

I checked my online status around March 9th, nothing was changed, I checked again today March 21, it said that the letter was sent out on March 19th, I guess that they updated my e case on March 19th. I haven't received a letter yet, hopefully, it will be in my mail box next week.

Hope to hear good news from you and others who are still waiting in the near future...Good luck!

where is your local office?

Congratulations! I noticed that CIC is reviewing orginal RQs and not CIT0520. Do we have anybody that received CIT0520 and was later scheduled for oath? I thin unfortunately for some of us that received CIT0520 there will be an additional 6 month wait time.

My timeline was very similar to yours. I applied in December 2011 and got tested in July 2014 with an oath in March

Hi any more good news anyone received ? look to me RE 2011 and 2012 applicants

are few left : including my self....

any progress please update every day is difficult to pass :

Mine has been 28 months .

I applied NOV/2012

SENT RQ ABRIL/2014

DID CITIZENSHIP TEST MAY 2014 - scarborough

Last time I called, about 2 weeks ago they said the 1st review was finished at St clair and it went for a 2nd review..weird.

waiting for oath.

I called CIC a week ago and they told me the same 2nd review and in the process of renewing background checks. my time line in my signature.

I was wondering if anyone is seeing those numbers processed each month. last year we saw that CIC was publishing 8K or 10K or 15K each month. but I don't see that information being released anymore. Does that mean the number have drastically come down?

thanks

I wonder what they check in this 2nd review ! no idea..whatever it is i think it's the final step !!!!!!

Hi... I have no idea why the they take years to review the file, in all citizenship application
there is only one think they have to ensure the residential status ? this can be check
with salary stub, tax submittal, lease /owner ship paper of property, car vehicle own,
cbsa record etc...

my file under officer review for 130 days.. my file was pending with st.clair since

March 2013.. my file was with CIC since January 2012.

Over all 38 months....
