Under the sponsorship application status says "Decision Made". under Permanent Residence application status it says "Application received". no mention of medical yet.

Hi everyone - new member here.

My sister who is a Canadian citizen sponsored my Father's application - that was initiated in 2009.
Earlier this year, around first week of February, 2014, we did the medical exam for my Father in Mumbai, India, and submitted the final leg of the application.
We are still awaiting the PR approval.
I have few questions -
  • Do the Medical exam results expire exactly 1 year from the date the medical exam was done?
  • Does the applicant (senior citizen in this case) have to repeat the entire medical exam if the PR approval happens just after 1 year from the first medical exam? Are there any exceptions?
  • Does the applicant have to actually land in Canada before the expiration of the Medical exam?
Please advise... Thank you.

Thank you canvis2006 for you response.
I am still looking for any additional information on this. As many people as we know that sponsored their parents' application they all got their visa before the Medicals expired. We are very close to the Medicals expiration date and still awaiting the visa. Anyone else here going through this situation, or know anyone that did?

It looks like processing is slowing down. I sent in the documents mid October, 2013, and had AOR in early December, 2013.

Hopefully this lack of AOR's is not significant. As far as I know, it really doesn't mean much: just that they have received the documents. Sponsorship approval and file transfer would be real progress.

Hello everyone, Happy New Year!

I have a question and it really bothers me, for a dependent that already worked, do they require a Certificate of Employment?

Hope someone can help me....

:'(

Very true. It is encouraging to get a bit of news, and some reassurance that they have actually received what you sent.

Hi Applied 2010,
I have not received AOR yet. I submitted additional documents in Sept 4, 2014. I am feeling worried that its taking so long for me.

Regards
