hi there, we are july 2010 applicant and got requested for additional docs in aug 2014 and sumitted in Oct.2014. After that, I have not received any updates... does anyone here have the similar situation?

July 30, 2014 documents requested
Oct 14, 2014 courier completed APR (received Oct 16)
Jan 30, 2015 Aknowledgement receipt (dated Jan 16, 2015)
Now Waiting....

i have a dependent he was 21 when i applied
now 24 he was asked to show continous study
he did his degree and then he enrolled himself in distant edu ...
but still dependent on parents ...
if anyone can hepl tht wht do i need to show to convience tht he is Full time student n dependent on parents

Hi snmnov2010. I'm curious, you said your dependent is 21 when you applied, now he's 24 & was asked to show continuous studies. How did they ask you to show continuous studies for your dependent? Did they send you specific letter requesting that? But in my understanding he is dependent type A at the time of application, so there should be no need for that. Only those under type B is required. I'm just concerned because I have a similar case, now I worry if they will require me to send proof of continues studies too. But i already received AOR saying the submitted documents are complete and que in processing. I hope that doesn't mean that my brother as my parents dependent will be refused

my bad they didn't asked for continuous study and i dint send any either as u mentioned tht he will be type A dependent..

Congrats AnyaBD. I know you were waiting to hear something and had trouble getting the AOR as well. I have added your name to the list.First name for month of Feb.

So far seems everyone approved has no dependents and majority of files are going to Ottawa. Lets hope things happen fast at Ottawa for everyone now.

Dependents has a lock-in age.. if your dependent is 21 at the time of submission, then they will rely on the age of your dependent at the time you applied.

If you read thoroughly about the definition of dependents and everything about dependents in CIC and I guess that is somewhere in the IMM forms.. then you will have your answer...
