Wouldn't be surprised if there is no draw today. Most likely next week. They are not in a mood to drop it below 450.

I hope chris alexander looses big time in elections tommorow. Atleast liberal party will look after the candidates in much better way as compared to current immigration minister

Rafzy, bestofluck,

It seems that they don't want to decrease the cutoff,
At this trend my projection changes, we will not see CRS under 450 before December...
In postponing this week draw, next draw will increase and it would be at 456 or 458, than probably it would decrease slightly in November and December , eventually when they stop giving PTs... Few more months to wait.

Rafzy, I don't think the outcome of these elections would have any immediate impact on the EE process. And having seen the manifestos of the all the parties in the fray, I don't think it would help us either way.

Anyway, hope for the best.. and hope for a provincial nomination. . :(

438...Preparing to submit EOI to provinces. No other way left out.
Relax guys, even if there is no draw today, there is no reason to be hopeless. The scores are bound to come down from the present level of 450. Don't be surprised if it goes down to 435 by the end of the year. Don't panic.

It's become clear that at the current rate of application submissions, they can only invite up to about 36,000 (1,500 x 2/month x 12 months) people a year with scores of 450 or more. Even if these people have families that they will bring along, the total figure of immigrants won't go above 50-60K a year with this strategy. I don't think provincial nominations could up these numbers by much - the Ontario program for example is currently at about 5K a year. So either the scores must drop below 450 if CIC wants to meet higher immigration targets or they will have to take in less than 100k people a year in total. As far as I remember, their stated target was 200K+ a year.

^To add to my previous post, all these figures are assuming that ALL ITAs result in PR, which we know from official stats is not the case. Many are rejected and it's also clear from the mid-year figures that even those granted PR are a fraction of all invited. As per the figures, out of 12,000+ invited at mid year, only about 7,500 had applied, and out of these, only about 600 people were approved. It seems there is a bottleneck in the system, and they will either need to get more people to work on apps, improve their processes, or restrict ITAs until they are able to speed things up so that all applicants can get a response within 6 months. It seems that currently they have chosen the latter option - restrict ITAs for the time being.

That is indeed the overall immigration target but of that only about 60k would be ITAs through EE under various programs. 60k ITAs could well be close to 120k or more economic class immigrants.

Off the topic.... but congrats on your 6000th post on these boards. I guess you helped on or two people with their journey to become PR ;) LOL
Probably a fair bit more than one or two. Hopefully I'll have a dozen friends in each city when I get there! ;)

I've explained this multiple times on the forum including a fairly exhaustive message. If I can find that, I'll put that here later. The basic logic being that there are other classes of immigrants (refugees, family reunification etc) other than EE based economic immigrants (FSW, FST, CEC, PNP via EE).
