Hi
I have one question as per below scenario for AIPP eligibility requirement- Days and HRS.
12/11/2016 to 06/10/2017 = 182 Days --> First check was with same Dates (01/07/2016 to 01/07/2017 Double Pay was Ran)
09/01/2018 to 10/31/2018 = 60 Days
03/01/2019 to 06/15/2019 = 107 Days
Total = 349 Days.
Total regular Hrs worked in last 3 yrs 1961 HRS.
Overtime = 47 Hrs
Total = 2008 HRS in last 3 yrs.
NOC 6332
Are we fine with experience duration or we may be in trouble? hrs is getting enough as per AIPP Requirement but days are less.
So I am concerned.

You need to have 52 separate weeks of employment where you worked at least 30 hours. You cannot use overtime hours to make up for missing weeks. Based on the information you have provided above, you are around 2-3 weeks short from having 1 year of work experience.

Even though if I won't count the overtime the total regular Hrs worked in last 3 yrs 1961 HRS but only 2-3 weeks are less in actual 1 yrs.

Dear Altruists,

Hope you are doing well.

I have been working full time as a Retail Sales Supervisor, NOC 0 since 1st May. I am on PGWP(got it on may 5th). I am working an average 30hrs./week. I guess i should be applying for express entry on next may? My problem is my employer can only provide me a monthly paystub instead of bi-weekly. So if he does monthly, it will be 4 weeks, which will be 4 x 12 = 48 weeks for the whole year. I can increase my work hours to add up to 1560hrs. for the whole year, but will that help?. So, can I apply after 1 year or should I wait one more month and then apply, i.e. after 13 months? Please advise.

Thank you for your patience.

You need 52 actual weeks AND at least 1560 hours (with a maximum of 30 hours per week counted).

Thank you for your reply, like I said, I will be working for the whole year, but the calculation will get messed up in my pay stub.

So why do you say "I can increase my work hours to add up to 1560hrs. for the whole year, but will that help?"?
What do you mean by "increase my work hours"?

It will NOT help you to get to the magic 1560 hours. Only the first 30 hours of the week are counted. The rest are discarded.

Hi All,

My query is, if I finish 52 weeks (no. of hours / 30 days) after the actual calendar 52 weeks, am i eligible to apply under Canadian experience class.
I'm working as a shift supervisor, category 6311
Letter of employment does not state part-time / full time.
Joined on 18th September but stated work in mid October.
By doing math, i am finishing 52 week in after 1st week of November.
Awaiting for the response????

The psrt/full time classification of the job is not important.
What IS important is that you must have 52 weeks minimum employment and EACH of the 52 weeks consisted of 30 hours minimum.
If that is the case, then you can apply.

So CEC does not consider 52 calendar weeks but its by (no. of hours worked / 30= no. of weeks worked).
If that's the case then I am good to apply after 1st week of November as it will be 53.16 weeks.

So CEC does not consider 52 calendar weeks but its by (no. of hours worked / 30= no. of weeks worked).

Incorrect. You must work a minimum of 52 calendar weeks if you work full-time (30 or more hours per week).

If you are counting hours, you cannot count more than 30 hours per week.

example:

week 1: work 35 hours, count 30
week 2: work 45 hours, count 30
week 3: work 20 hours, count 20
week 4: work 15 hours, count 15
week 5: work 35 hours, count 30

Although you worked a total of 150 hours, you can only count 30 hours per week, so it does not count as 5 weeks; instead it counts as 130 hours, or 4 complete weeks.

If that's the case then I am good to apply after 1st week of November as it will be 53.16 weeks.

Can´t assess that without knowing how many hours you worked per week.

You need to work a minimum of 52 weeks, for at least 30 hours per week, to be eligible. Alternatively, part-time work (fewer than 30 hours per week) is also accepted but it is prorated, and by definition will take longer than 52 weeks to reach the full-time equivalent of one year.

It sounds like maybe you had variable hours (mix of part-time and full-time hours) and would rather not discuss that...

Thanks for the kind responses.
I am glad that I joined this thread.
I am trying to find an answer to the problem in my case, for the way to apply in CEC category. My real time scenario is as follows:
1. In calendar 52 week I complete 1404 hours (considering max 30 hours/week) because first 2 weeks of my work, I wasn't scheduled and didn't get paid as well. So 0 hours.
2. I am achieving 1560 hours in 57 calendar weeks instead of 52 calendar weeks. (My job description doesn't state full time or part time from the company).
My question is that does CIC consider the total numbers of hours worked in 52 calendar weeks(1st Oct .18 to 1 st Oct. 19) or it doesn't matter, the moment candidate achieves 1560 hours of work (considering max. 30 hrs / week) can apply for CEC category.
