Which program is that? And institution? And why don't you talk to the admissions representative about this? He might guide you better. I personally think you should go for the one having more funding opportunities.

Reevaluation would cost a lot. I'd rather prepare, and retake it to improve my band score.

It was academic. And even if questions are based on the test taker's module, then the questions should be specific to candidate's academic field.

I agree. Other candidates were asked similar questions. If this is how British Council conducts the speaking test on some days, I'm afraid people it would lose credibility.

People are normally asked questions about general things and their opinion on those things in IELTS speaking test. Whereas, I was asked about the geography of my country (Pakistan) and its water bodies (lakes, rivers, and all). Given the limited knowledge I have on this, I found it difficult to...

Same here. Would you please tell me what had the examiner asked you in the speaking exam? And that whether your module was Academic or General? Also, which country did you appear from, plus, was it conducted by British council or AEO?

I am confronted by the same situation as you. I too was confident I'd score at least 7.5-8 on writing, but ended up receiving 6 (really). Now I am waiting for TRF and hoping for a different score. If it turns out to be the same as provisional result, I must retake the test. Do you plan to retake it?
