I don't think that it will cause any issues...as you may want to read above the column in the application form that in case you don't provide the email, all the communication from CHC will be done on the mailing/residential address you provided...so i don't think its a big issue...

@nand:The confirmation mail one gets is the one with a PDF file in which the UCI no. & App. no. along with a table that mentions some no. and validity of study permit and the subject is "Citizenship & Immigration Canada: Information about....." right??

It is highly recommended for getting a study permit..moreover will be helpful for you in getting admission...so better take it...

@MIST : When did you apply for visa and under which category..SPP/University/General ??

@ gkb: have you come across any case wherein the applicant has made some mistake in the application??(have already asked about my case specifically but need some more clarifications)....if yes then does the VO reject the visa application outright or he asks for rectification in the application...

Try calling 0018777000043...ask the customer care if your account has been credited with 10000 CAD if yes then ask him to take a request to send you GIC certi asap...I had done the same and got my certi the next day after putting up my request...I called at around 11 PM indian time..
