Soon to expire IEC - Inland sponsorship - implied status??

It's because CIC call centre employees are really only there to handle basic administrative questions such as checking processing times, what form are needed for which application etc. They are not trained to provide legal advise.

work permit expiring soon - help!

Why apply inland? Outland for Brazil is one of the fastest processing centers. I think the average time is around 5 months (as long as you have no red flags). If they apply for spousal sponsorship inland you can also apply for an open work permit. It takes about 4-5 month to process the work...

After sending out my Inland spousaul sponsorship...

Yes you can, it's very easy. It takes a few months but you will have implied status while it processes. If for any reason your PR app is returned, you can correct it and send it back without losing the ability to apply for an owp.

After sending out my Inland spousaul sponsorship...

Even though you sent the application for an open work permit which gives you implied status, I strongly recommend renewing your current visa (or changing it to a visitor). I have seen so many people get stuck because their applications got sent back after their visas expire cancelling their...

OCTOBER 2015 APPLICANTS WAITING FOR DM!

There is already a thread for October 2015 Outland applicants: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/october-2015-outland-spousal-applicants-t351653.0.html

Spousal sponsorship from Canadian Citizen + How to go about this?

No, getting married just means you can start the process to apply for PR. Conditional PR is granted after your application is processed, it means that the PR can be revoked if the marriage ends within 2 years of receiving PR. Depends, an inland application does come with a work permit provided...

Work Permits for Spousal Sponsorship Applicants

Brazil outland is really quick, you could have full PR in the time in takes to get an inland work permit.

    cic etobicoke

I don't really see what value a post like this has except to put down the original poster. You don't know what's going on in their life right now. I had a friend miss a citizenship oath ceremony and it was rescheduled. You shouldn't just assume someone who missed it "just didn't care enough"...

Proof of relationship - not enough

Don't be. My common law husband and I submitted about 10 photos, a joint lease, a receipt for mail forwarding, some letters from friends and family, a joint bank account printout and some envelopes addressed to both of us. We never submitted any chat logs or messages and we were approved fine...

Proof of relationship - not enough

What I meant is when it comes to showing a relationship is genuine, married and common law applicants are viewed as equal. CIC doesn't view married couples as "more genuine" than common law. Getting married doesn't strengthen a common law application.

Proof of relationship - not enough

This isn't true, common law and marriage are the same. Getting married doesn't mean that there is less burden of proof for the relationship. I understand that your in a tough position being called for an interview, but that doesn't mean that this is the case for all applicants.

    Common-Law Spousal Sponsorship Interview

One thing you can get is parents, relatives and friends to write letters of support. We didn't have too much proof. My common law husband is from Brazil and we've been living together since 2012. We were approved without any questions. We had about 10 pictures, a joint bank account, joint lease...

    Worried...Please help

A PR application does not grant any visa status on it's own. If you applied inland and submitted an OWP with the application then you have status as implied until the permit is granted. If you applied outland then you need to maintain some kind of status to stay in Canada (visitor, student, work...

    Option C requirement

You don't have to provide the Option C, if you look at the document checklist it should tell you what the alternative option is. I believe it involves writing a letter and attaching your pay stubs.

    Inland Common-Law sponsorship question

You can just apply to change your visa from work to visitor online. It's pretty painless, just a few forms. You don't have to prove to them that you will leave when the visa is up. This is more of a concern for people trying to get into Canada. Once you're here, it's pretty easy to stay. Here is...

    About sponsorship responsibility

You are responsible for them after the PR is issued, regardless of the waiting time to get the PR. Really, the only difference between a citizen and PR is that citizens can vote and visa restrictions for other countries (based on whait their official citizenship is). PRs have access to...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

Well maybe not "odd", I've just been following the online spreadsheet and most Sept/October applicants were processed ahead of June/July/August applicants. It's nice to see people getting their PR, just curious why they skipped ahead. They haven't even started July yet but most Sept/Oct ones are...
