I have sent it out on 29/3, and CIC has already received it according to the post tracking. I have the following questions:

1. When will CIC give me a notification? By mail or email?

2. I sent my OWP application out together, but my visa will expire in May. When will I have my status changed, or get the OWP visa?

2. Are you currently here as a visitor? If so, then there's nothing you need to do until you received the approved OWP around four months from now. Once you received the OWP, you can start working.

Even though you sent the application for an open work permit which gives you implied status, I strongly recommend renewing your current visa (or changing it to a visitor). I have seen so many people get stuck because their applications got sent back after their visas expire cancelling their implied status and making them ineligible to get an open work permit when they resubmit.

Yes! ! I am a visitor right now. Do you mean just leave it till I receive my owp?

Yes you can, it's very easy. It takes a few months but you will have implied status while it processes. If for any reason your PR app is returned, you can correct it and send it back without losing the ability to apply for an owp.
