Hello guys I recently became a PR. My brother would like to visit Canada but he as to apply for a visa. My question is can I send him a invitation letter to come here for 2 weeks?

If your Pr application was approved you can apply for a Open work permit that would be way easier

My work permit took exactly 1 month including mailing. I send app on Jan, 4 and I recieved my work permit Feb,3. I wish I didn't apply because 3 weeks after my Pr application was finallize but each case are different

I had my Landing interview this morning... Its not an interview its more likely to check your information and sign nothing much... I feel free now I can travel

As for when I got a call from Immigration, Goverment of Canada showed up on the phone and the first time I missed the call it was about 5:30. The other times it was like 11:00 or so and yes I did get approved after those call

As soon as your application get approved. The letter state "If you wish to work or study you can apply for a permit

Thanks much now I feel better. I always thought a work permit is only valid for a year or to the time they think your application should be finnalize.

I recieve my work permit also am planning on going to service canada soon. My work permit is valid for 3 yrs do you think its normal? May I ask you how many yrs your work permit is valid for? Thank you

Today I recieve my work permit it was a pretty fast process just a few days under a month, but am happy and confuse at the same time reason being its valid for 3 yrs could this be am not going to be landed until the next 3 yrs or what. Is this normal for a work permit to be valid for 3 yrs....

@mumsie64 that was fast I post my letter on the 3rd of January. Did you apply online? I just cant wait to start work tired of staying home

It's an open work permit. I apply for H&C grounds and my application was approved and the letter state that if you wish to apply for study or work permit you may apply. I apply for the OWP the beginning of January this year

Is there a way that someone can check if their work permit is in process?

Its like am the only one who apply from 2009 and still waiting
