No one have any exact idea how long it takes but it depends on case by case. No of dependents, any abroad travel history, delay on employer response on our experience... etc. and of course the no of applications pending.

I think the background verification is going for a batch of applications. It is a time consuming process so patience is the only way.

What i heard is if eligibility is passed then PAL will be received, in your case you are supposed to get it. You can ask your lawyer about it.

I think some visa officers do background checking before MR, in that case they will get ppr within few months. Another case is they request for medical and after that background verification starts then there will be long silence to get ppr. In both cases, mostly it may take around 1 year to...

Mostly on the same day of AOR or after few weeks of AOR

You need to give biometrics only when they request it, at the time of document submission you need not have to submit.

What actually they verify in background check?

Actually the eligibility are done at the beginning stage by CIO, after that the file will be send to local visa office. Once the local visa office do the eligibility before or after medical request, the PAL will be ready. That's what I know the process from my previous readings about paper...

They haven't started your eligibility that's why you didn't got PAL. Once eligibility is cleared then only the PAL will be send to you.
