This happened to me. When i went for my medical as previous poster mention the doctor will send a deferral letter to IRCC and your file will be on hold until the medicals are done and received.

Applicant would be your wife.

What i did was attach my(principle applicant) UCI # to my GcKey. Only one account can link the file. Then i check my husband(sponsor) UCI under the ECAS.(online tool). Hope this helps.

I was directed that if your process has exceeded 1 year to order your GCMS Notes as this will give you a bit of insight on were they are in the process.

I am a May applicant and from my understanding after background check is sponsor eligibility and applicant eligibility. Decision made then interview.
