Thanks! When we applied (expedited) for the new passport they said we would have it "in a few weeks" which could potentially be this week. So, fingers crossed we can get it in before their deadline, but otherwise hopefully with the acknowledgement that they have our stuff, we will be all set!

That's good! They did it probably because your husband is gonna renew his passport during the process before the competition anyway. So if you haven't already, you may wanna start working on his renewal, earlier the better. IRCC already asked for an updated copy, it's on it's way :)

Just checked CIC and OWP status changed to review eligibility!! We are a Sept 24 application.

Does anyone know, if you renew your passport, will CIC/is there a way to extend the OWP? My husband's passport expires in May, and we are in the process of renewing as CIC has requested a new one already. So, once it's renewed and sent to CIC, can his OWP be extended?
