Passport Sent/Received in Ottawa in MAY 2015. Join here

My return tracker also got activated just now (or says "processed"). The passport copies and stuff reached CIC on the 21st. Hopefully I'll get the COPR back on Thursday so that I can go do my landing before the weekend!

Sent my passport copies on Saturday, but because of the long weekend they only got shipped today. Should get to Ottawa by Thursday.

February 2014 PNP applicant that already submitted their application to NS CIO

Don't email them - it's a waste of time. Call the service centre. If they don't have anything useful to say, contact your local MP and ask them to inquire CIC for you. It's also useful to order GCMS notes, because you can get some hints there about what the holdup in your processing is.

Can I study full time while waiting for my immigration hELP

I agree with Quink - don't chance everything you've achieved this far just because you want to go to school a year earlier. To me, taking a bunch of program-specific courses while not technically enrolling in the program, and assuming it's ok because technically it's ok, seems risky. CIC has...

March - April PNP PR Batch :)

It simply means a decision has been made. In vast majority of cases, it's positive. For some unlucky people, it's negative. If you have DM on ECAS, you can call the CIC call centre and ask the agent. They're allowed to tell you what the result is. Otherwise you can just wait for the email to...

Urgent!!! Please Advise!! minimum salary for AINP??

You need to figure out what the average wage for your occupation is in the area that you will be working, and then make sure that your wage is at least as much as that average. That's how it works with BC PNP - there might be differences between the provinces, but that should give you a general...

    PNP PR APPLICATION JUNE 2014

Don't worry too much about it. CIC has been dealing with an enormous backlog lately, and for that reason NS has been processing PR files as well, not just Ottawa. There are applicants who have gotten every piece of correspondence from NS throughout their processing, and just the final PPR email...

BOWP 6 months before expiry of current permit

Totally understandable! Obviously I can't give 100% foolproof guarantee, I'm not an immigration professional or anything. I can only say what's happened to me and what I've observed happening to others. I applied for a BOWP last November, without realizing that I'm not eligible for it (because...

    PNP PR July 2014 Batch

    I don't think it's necessary.

Can I study full time while waiting for my immigration hELP

You can only study if you have a study permit. I don't think you're allowed to hold two types of permit at the same time to make your scenario possible (i.e. have a study permit as well as work permit). So unfortunately you would need to wait until you become a PR.

BOWP 6 months before expiry of current permit

It doesn't matter what type of WP you apply - you will get implied status nonetheless. What implied status means is that you can keep on working under the conditions of your expired permit, until the decision regarding the new permit is made. It doesn't make a difference whether you're eligible...

BOWP 6 months before expiry of current permit

Oh. This being the PNP forum I thought you were a provincial nominee. CEC would probably have different rules regarding BOWPs - you should consult the folks at the CEC section. The 4-month rule would still apply the same way, I believe.

BOWP 6 months before expiry of current permit

No, the date of the application when sent must be within the 4 month timeframe. So you'd have to wait for two more months until you can get a BOWP. Keep in mind though that if you're currently on a closed permit you may not be eligible for a BOWP (open permit).

    PNP PR APPLICATION JUNE 2014

Congrats toleoring! Happy to tell you that I also just received the request to send passport copies, photos & biodata (I'm from a visa-exempt country)! I hope everyone who recently got DM is getting their requests in this same batch!

No not yet, but I'm still pretty convinced I'm not going to be getting PPR at all, just the COPR in the mail.

    PNP PR July 2014 Batch

Oh! That's weird! I wonder if you just happened to speak with someone who didn't know the way things work. The call centre agents are notorious for having no clue sometimes... I'm sure you guys are fine!

    PNP PR July 2014 Batch

Call them and ask! They're allowed to tell you. It's hard to get through to an agent sometimes, but I called right after 8am and only had to wait for about 10 minutes.
