I think it would be better to first inform CIC about your wife and then you can apply for an SOWP for her. This is the safest way to do it.

It is exactly 1 year from the approval of BOWP and it does not matter when your TRV or TWP will expire. Once the BOWP is released it supersedes your current TWP and if your TRV will expire soon and want to get out of Canada and re-entry you will need to apply for another TRV based on your BOWP...

Heads up guys! First March applicant received his MR for him and his family tonight. It's not long until we are going to receive it and if they are keeping up the way they started again, first of us will receive their MR by the end of this month. Best of luck for all of us!!!

I'm an April applicant and I've got my BOWP in May. Would it be faster to apply for my spouse OWP while she is not with me in Canada and have her and my kids with me this way or should I wait for my application to be processed first? Seniors please advise. Thanks

They say it takes approximately 2 weeks but it depends on how far are you from their office who issued it and how long it will take Canada Post to process it. Mine took like 5 days and I'm in Calgary. Please be patient and will come soon.
