I think it is just a gimmick. Most of of files are processed within 12-16 months. By saying the average time a 18 months in general will help improve their stats and an eye wash to the public. Not many thing will change at ground level.

From what I've seen in the past, NDVO can send remed request starting within 30 days of medical expiry.

28th was in lieu of Saturday Dec 26th, most offices were closed and on CIC website 28th was mentioned as a holiday.

I do want to scare you and hope the delay is because of the pr. But a couple o people I know you you experience the chandigarh office. Their TRV application was finalized in about six weeks aft submitting passport.

Does anyone know if the spouse is in Canada on TRV and PPR is received, does the applicant need to go back to the home country (NDVO in my case)? Is there a provision passport can be submitted while in Canada? Thanks
