Complicated case - spouse without father

One more question, should I submit the ORIGINAL notarized affidavits or would a photocopy suffice? I haven't seen any hard and fast rule regarding this but I'd prefer to submit a photocopy in case we need to use the affidavits later on, since we aren't gonna get any of the documents back from CIC.

Complicated case - spouse without father

The uncle is his mother's elder sister's husband. His mother's elder sister and her husband raised him from the time he was born until he turned 16.

Complicated case - spouse without father

So I'm now wondering, will CIC reject my spouse's birth certificate and will this screw up our entire application? My exact concern is, by putting this story on paper will jeopardize all of my spouse's Indian documents and pretty much destroy our application. The thing is, my husband comes from...

Using Whatsapp for Proof of Relationship

I'm using WhatsApp as the primary proof of communication. Honestly, making print screens is going to take forever. Also, it'd be impossible to get ALL of the print screens, given that my spouse and I both had changed phones, and even had ones that broke. We only have the emailed version in a...

question regarding additional page for IMM 5669

I'm also preparing documents so my words should be taken with a grain of salt. But I simply typed "Please refer to IMM 5669 Appendix for the complete record of personal history" in the table and left the rest of the lines blank.

Complicated case - spouse without father

Gemini020, I agree entirely. My husband's situation is pretty much the same. His aunt (mom's eldest sister) and the aunt's husband (the uncle on his birth certificate and all other documents) are the ones who raised him till he left for university. Growing up, he stayed with his mom once a...

Complicated case - spouse without father

Thanks Cedeel! Indeed, the information had been "falsified" from the very beginning. I think the best bet for us is to inquire an immigration lawyer for a peace of mind.

Complicated case - spouse without father

Thanks! It was definitely on purpose as all Indian documents require name of father so they don't have an option of putting "none". And since the family didn't want anything to do with his biological father and vice versa, they opted to remove him from the picture entirely. I definitely feel...

Complicated case - spouse without father

Thanks for the prompt response! Yep, we haven't mailed out the application yet - it'd take another 2-3 weeks before it'd be ready. His uncles name is stated on all of his documents, birth certificate included.

Complicated case - spouse without father

My husband (Indian) and I (Canadian) have been preparing our application for the past few months. This is a pretty specific question and I imagine few people having similar experiences, but perhaps some of you might have insights: My husband does not have a father. His father left his mom and...

Unable to get marriage certificate in India - J&K state

My Indian spouse and I had our traditional marriage ceremony in India in mid-Dec 2014 (he is from the Ladakh in Jammu & Kashmir), and are hoping to start the sponsorship application asap. A few days after the ceremony, we went to a local advocate, where we exchanged rings, signed papers, and...

Visit Canada after outland spousal sponsorship application submission?

My spouse (of Indian nationality) and I were married in Dec 2014 in India. We plan to submit the outland sponsorship application sometime in Apr 2015. My question is, can he come to Canada on a visitor visa immediately after the application is submitted? What kind of difficulties might be...
