Just an update, hopefully someone is able to answer me. So I saw a lawyer who suggested I contact CSIS to see if they had received a request for screening for my husband. I got a reply from CSIS saying that they have concluded their screening in August 2014 and sent their info to CIC and mind...

According to my MP, my husband's background checks have been ongoing since August 2014! Depends on their travel/work history and how long it will take to get all info about them together

I think once they have all of you info scanned and uploaded on to their system, they send the original docs back. I applied in 2012 and got my nikkah khat back in 2013 and guess what, my application is still "in process" :) So it depends on each case...hoping for the best

Yes so just sign the consent form and as the email says, send it as a Reply to the email they sent you and they'll get it. If not, you can always start a new request with the consent form (but you have to pay $5 again lol)

Salam everyone. Congrats to all those who got DM! InshAllah you all get PPR soon I just got a reply to my inquiry from CIC saying that our file is with an officer for review; does this mean that background check/security is done and just waiting for a final review? (I REALLY hope so!)

Same with mine...it changed as well. I think they have made the processing date the date they received it at the visa office in ND My app was transferred to India on March 2013 and now it shows that it started processing on March 2013 (before it was June 2014)

Thanks SenoritaBella for the encouragement. I am in contact with my MP, he is in process of getting the information from CIC; hopefully he has news either tomorrow or Monday latest. My application is 2 months over the timeline and the fact that elections are close sort of doesn't help because...

It's just very frustrating, because at one point it said that the security screening had been started, but then cancelled. I understand it takes a while to conduct these checks but why not keep us in the loop? Ugh

I think they recently changed the format for the online status. Mine says the same things (different dates) so I wouldn't worry about it!

Yeah and no one answers any of the emails that we send them either; my husband's medicals expired almost 2 months ago and still no news from them. I hope you hear something before his meds expire, but seeing how they're treating our cases, I have no hope any more -_-

Yeah, I have a feeling it's the same as well...which will be a waste of money. And he also told me that if the applicant is a male+over 20+has had more than one job, the background checks will take much longer than those who are younger than 20 or female etc. I hope we hear something...
