GOT ITA TO APPLY UNDER CEC WITH NO CANADIAN WORK EXPERIENCE

Are you eligible under FSW? I would contact them before refusing the invitation to point out that you don't have a year of Canadian experience and said so on your profile. They may simply switch your category - they've done that before. Hey - wanna switch with me? I wanted CEC but my invitation...

Is DEC 2014 FBI PCC still eligible?

We are in the same situation, right down to the December 17 date! My plan is to submit both the old one and a copy of the application for a new one. I suspect that CIC knows the FBI is experiencing huge delays right now - and having to get new PCs every 3 months isn't helping!

ATTN 5th Draw Candidates with Less than 600 Points

I agree. There is a difference between "a job offer" on the one hand and "a valid job offer" or "an arranged job offer" on the other, and it is a difference that CIC well knows. To say no to whether I have a job offer is a lie. To say yes, if in fact they meant only a job offer supported by an...

ATTN 5th Draw Candidates with Less than 600 Points

I am going to leave my answer to "Do you have a job offer?" as yes, because I do, and because the question does not ask if I have a VALID job offer, which it could easily do. If it meant only LMIA-supported job offers, it would not need to ask the follow-up question about WHETHER I have an LMIA...

Police Clearance Certificate - should i wait to apply for these

US can take up to 18 weeks - 4 1/2 to 5 months these days, including mailing time, so apply now.

Retarded POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE need is stressing me out!

Maplemadness82, we are in the same position. At 466 points, I know it's possible we will be in the next draw, and yet the two Slovak police certificates we obtained over Christmas have just expired, and the FBI report, which I applied for also over Christmas, has not yet arrived or even been...

TRV Visa to Express Entry ?

You don't get extra points for submitting from Canada or for being in Canada when you get an ITA. Obviously, if you are successful in getting a student visa before your visitor visa expires, you can stay longer.

    Police report requirements?

Yeah - at 466 and qualified for both FSW and CEC, I'm afraid we're pretty close to 'touching'! The thing is, of course, that you never know, and new PCs we apply for today could become invalid before we actually receive an invitation. I think they didn't really think through a lot of things...

    Police report requirements?

Thanks, the_lion -- It's clear that they need the police certificates to be less than 90 days old at the time of application, which is what I was afraid of. That was fine in the old days, when you planned the day you would apply for PR, but it doesn't work under this system for anyone whose...

    Police report requirements?

Well, that's the problem. If I try to keep them current BEFORE getting ITA, so that I can submit valid ones with my application, I will be driving the FBI and Slovak police crazy with new requests every 3 months. If I wait until getting an ITA and then apply for fresh ones, it will take 4-5...

    Police report requirements?

Does anyone know, from CIC's mouth, if we really have to collect police reports from every country we've lived in EVERY 3 MONTHS while we wait in line on EE? Both countries I've lived in (the US and Slovakia) take 4-5 months to deliver the report, which means I should apply for a new one even...

Retarded POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE need is stressing me out!

MapleMadness, I am in the same position with the FBI. They say 14-16 weeks. But meantime my clearance from Slovakia will run out, and that also takes 2 months or more. It's impossible to keep these things current while waiting for EE!

    Police clearance from US

Inside the US, you can often go to a police station and ask them to take the fingerprints. If CIC wants a state report later, they'll let you know, but just start with the FBI. And don't delay - we've been waiting for more than 2 months to get the report back already!

Concerns on Express Entry for candidates with PGWP/CEC with no LMIA

I'm not so sure they think this is a 'glitch' or even a problem. If you are in an LMIA-exempt job, as I am, and your employer wants to keep you, the employer can apply for an LMIA for you. If they don't/can't/won't, it's probably because there are in fact people who are already Canadian who want...

    Canada, US, UK

Don't know about UK, you can read a lot about your chances in Canada in this forum. In the US, you could almost certainly - given your field - get an H1B visa for up to 6 years, during which time you could try to find an employer who would petition for a green card for you. In your field, it is...

Fifth & Sixth Draw. Expecting 320+ score will get ITA

Wow, that's great. I have IELTS 9, 1 year Canadian experience, 10 years foreign experience, bachelor's degree, 34 years old, with a partner who has IELTS 9, bachelor's degree, is a grad student at a Canadian school, 32 years old, and we are only at 466.

DO EVERYONE HAVE TO GO FOR ECA FOR THEIR FOREIGN DEGREE? PLEASE HELP

Did you get a DIPLOMA or a DEGREE from your one-year post-grad in Canada? My partner has a 5-year Master's degree from Slovakia, then came to Canada to do 1 year as a special non-degree student at the University of Toronto, and now is finishing the second year of a 3-year Master's program at the...

    phd stream under express entry

I don't believe you will get points currently for your Ph.D. studies before your degree. But once you have the degree, even without EE, you can still apply for provincial nomination if the province you are in allows that based on a Canadian Ph.D., and you can still obtain a post-graduate open...

    WARNING: INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS IN CANADA

I'm not in this situation, but know people who are, and I also believe it's a little unfair for those who are currently in or recently graduated from Canadian institutions. The people I know chose to spend $20,000 a year or more in tuition for a Canadian school, often at great sacrifice, in part...
