Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
I got all my PCC's figured out in August last year. its hardly 6 months old and now I have to get new ones within a specific time limit!

Why do I need new ones when I havent even left Canada since then!

I totally HATE it! ~
I'm pretty sure tons of people feel the same

Re: Retarded POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE

My PCC's for Australia and the UK were both a month over the expiry date at the time I submitted my CEC PR application (last year).

The application included a note to make it clear that I knew my certificates had expired and would get new ones if they wanted. I had been out of Canada 2-3 times since I got those PCC's, but they never did ask me to get new ones.

I'm not familiar with the EE specifics, but perhaps yours will be accepted.

Re: Retarded POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE

Thanks Arow Berry for your kind advise!
I'd try my best to get the latest ones as much as possible. Or submit old ones with an explanation like you have suggested. But I'm npt going to decline the Invite just becoz my PCC is a couple months old.

They suggest that they have the right to decline an application as incomplete if any of the docs are missing. But the moment i submit a PCC i come under procedural fairness.

In any case, I'd still be trying my best until the last day to get what ever I can in that matter.

Hi the_lion,

Did you try to ask CIC about this issue?
Maybe you will get a surprise. :)

1 CIC is quite specific PCCs can't be older than 3 months when submitted. Do you really think that CIC is going to go to the trouble to try and prove that the applicant hasn't returned to the country of issue since it was issued? http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/intro.asp

The FBI switched to a new computer system. Per their site:

at this time anticipated processing time for an Identity History Summary is approximately 14-16 weeks. Allow additional time for mail delivery.

So, take an extra two weeks for Canada Post, and you're likely looking at 16-18 weeks.

MapleMadness, I am in the same position with the FBI. They say 14-16 weeks. But meantime my clearance from Slovakia will run out, and that also takes 2 months or more. It's impossible to keep these things current while waiting for EE!

For the FBI, it's possible to get the results much faster with a FBI channeler. The results they give back are the exact same that the FBI does (I've ordered both to compare). It comes as a PDF (or some channellers will print it out and mail it).

CIC says:

Citizenship and Immigration Canada does not accept FBI police certificates issued by FBI-approved third party private companies. Only police certificates issued directly by the FBI will be accepted.

Since you upload your documents, there shouldn't be any difference between the two. Whether you want to gamble or not is of course up to you.

I left Germany in November 2013, my German work permit and visa expired on December 31, 2013, police certificate is from January 2014.
As a person that need a visa to travel to EU I'm pretty much sure that for me was no way to be anywhere near there for the last 14 month

In exceptional circumstances, some applicants may experience delays in obtaining PCs within the 60-calendar-day timeframe allocated to submit a complete e-APR. In such situations, applicants should submit a letter of explanation as part of their application and include proof of having requested a PC (e.g., a copy of the receipt obtained when they requested the PC from the prescribed authority). The officer's discretion may be required in assessing whether PCs that do not fall within these time limits are valid and reliable for the purpose of evaluating admissibility.

That is true.
But if you look to proof of funds which they ask - they ask same for all.
However I never submitted any bank letter of company letterhead, just print out from online banking. It was ok.
Their guidlines are mostly oriented to people who are abroad.

Please read the instructions, as per 08/03/15 CIC no longer accepts the FBI reports from Chanelers.
