    Issue with immediate family member

Having a close Canadian relative only adds to your points. You don't need the points - leave the relative out. In the part where they ask about your brothers, sisters, parents, etc. and where they live, you will have to write that you don't know where she lives. It happens. No stress. Asivad...

Ghost email and no ecas update (to DM)

Actually, that exact thing happened earlier this week with an open work permit renewal application I submitted before I got PR. It just means someone opened the file. In my case, I hope they are getting ready to send me a refund! :D

Need help and advice desperately. Very anxious!

You are overthinking. It's a disease on this board, apparently quite contagious. You cannot get an invitation for a program you did not qualify for. You will get a CEC invitation. No one is doing this by hand, it's all done by computer, and the computer says no ;D to FSW. People who qualify...

20th and 27th March ITA and still no decision - connect here

Just check your ECAS about 24 hours after your ghost mail to see if it says Decision Made. The ghost mail could be related to your bg check, or it could signal a decision has been made in your case - in which case the REAL nail-biting can begin.

    Proof of Funds for CEC

With a CEC invitation, just send your bank statement, NoA, and T4 - you don't have to meet the minimums. And do wait until you pass that two-year mark to submit UNLESS your score was boosted by LMIA or PNP. If you submit with only one year of experience, they will reduce your score accordingly...

Sent Passports to Ottawa after PPR in September

When they send back your passport after PPR, they stamp a special one-time entry visa for you to enter and become a PR. They also send your CoPR - they will write things on it, keep one copy to make your PR card, and give one copy back to you to use to prove your PR status for things like...

    Rejection for Photo

On the CIC website it says explicitly they will not reject you for that - but they may ask you to upload new photos.

So that's two of us, yelena - and I'm sure there are plenty more. No worries! I know your crazy medical experience could be making you nervous overall, but I'm sure now that's been straightened out you'll be fine.

CIC is asking for PROOF OF FUNDS, But I applied under CEC

The original post was from May, before CIC clarified on their website that CEC applicants don't need to meet the funds requirement.

    Unqualified for Primary Occupation

For you, I am sure this doesn't matter. I put in a date in 2009 as the date I "qualified" as a literary agent. In fact, I didn't have a job as a literary agent until September, 2013. In 2009 I was working as an ESL teacher and journalist in Slovakia. But my mother was making a transition from...

    Unqualified for Primary Occupation

In your place, I would go ahead with the application. Your wife has TEN YEARS of experience. When did she first become qualified? Put in the date she first took a job as a graphics designer. In my case, my degree is a Bachelor of Music in Opera Performance. Having decided not to be an opera...

OHIP Card with applicatin in process

I was in the same situation as you, and they told me I could not renew it while on implied status, as they had to see a valid work permit (or CoPR). That doesn't mean that what I was told was right - I went on implied status September 1 and got PPR later that same night, so I knew it wouldn't be...

ECAS Decision Made and NO PPR Express Entry Candidates Connect Here!!

Not only did I not have that line before or while getting PPR, it's still not in my ECAS. No one should worry if they have Decision Made without that line.

ECAS Decision Made and NO PPR Express Entry Candidates Connect Here!!

MyCIC always lags behind ECAS. His decision is made -- and it takes anywhere from a day to a month or more to learn what it is. I think it's usually within 2 weeks, though - and it's usually PPR.

    Medical examination for expressentry

Your medical is valid for one year, and must still be valid when you "land" in Canada to finalize your permanent residence. Plan accordingly. But it is fine if you land, get your PR, and then go back home and finish your job contract before coming back to live here. You have to land, as I...

are there jobs available in Canada....!!!!

I came to Toronto, by far the biggest market for white-collar jobs, three years ago, when my partner got accepted to grad school here. I had already contacted people in the field I wanted to work in - literary agent in the film world, for screenwriters and directors - and had been encouraged to...

20th and 27th March ITA and still no decision - connect here

You may be generally right, but I did my medical exam on May 6 and submitted the paper along with my application on May 7. PPR was just before midnight on September 1.
